I have questions about some of Vergil's moves, a little help?
Hey guys, hope everyone is having a blast with Vergil!

Anyway, I'm having some issues with some of his moves, maybe I'm not doing the correct inputs or the conditions aren't right...

(Bear in mind that I'm using a PS4 controller)

-First off, Judgement Cut. The iconic blue slashy orb that is executed by holding Triangle (Attack button). It seems like there is a sweet spot timing to deliver this move instantly and without having to step back, or even better, using this move more than one time in quick succession (managed to pull this once by accident). So, is there an indication as of when I should release triangle? Should I just press triangle to chain more?

-Second, the Rapid Slash. Yamato's stinger version where Vergil does running slash in which he sheathes his sword afterwards. The skill description seems to tell that you're able to chain this in quick succession as well, but unless I do an air trick cancel, vergil is stuck in his animation until it plays out fully. I know that I can spam this move while on SDT but is normal Vergil limited to just one slash? Or can I chain this move into itself in rapid succession?

Thanks in advance!

Judgement Cut is a reversed in terms of mechanics compared to DMC3SE, now instead of pressing at the right time, its holding and releasing at the right time to chain.

I see, so it's hold/time based... Seems like I'll have to find the sweet spot then...

Should I be holding the button when he starts the first JC animation or when the orb finishes slashing? Same goes for the release: Do I stop holding when the orb explodes or should I wait a bit more?

I'm having a hard time to replicate this and do it consistently, so any tips are welcome!

Keep an eye on the top of Yamato's scabbard. When Vergil finishes sheathing, you will see a flash of light. That flash of light is when you must release the button.

Rapid slash can only be spammed in SDT just like in 4SE otherwise you're gonna have to use trick to cancel recovery.

Oooooh I see it now, that's why I couldn't pull it off before, I have to delay the release waaay more than I thought I'd have to! It's pretty easy once you know the timing... Also, is it just one extra JC or can I chain even more? (I'm asking it because I can see another flash after the extra JC)

Well, thought as much. But hey, at least we can do an improvised Rapid Slash spam then.

Thank you everyone for the answers so far!

Maximum of 3x JJC's

So you can do one normal JC + 3x JJC on the ground or in the air (recommended in the air, coz normal JC has no execution delay or difference compared to Just JC in the air).

Or you can do 3x JJC's after any Yamato move/taunt, or some Mirage Edge moves. 3x is max for JJC's tho.

You can tell you've hit max when Vergil says 'Jackpot'. He will only ever say that word when you hit all 3.

Okay, I'm managing to 3x JJC a bit easier now, things got way more stylish now.

Once again, thank you for the tips!

If you're releasing too quickly for the ground ones, try the aerial ones. They don't have that blue indication as do the ground ones, but they sheathe a lot quicker and they have equal timings, as opposed to a slow first one.

Not sure if this has to do with framerates. I'm using keyboard & mouse btw. For me the release time would be after the blue flash just when he almost put the sword back. Holding both mouse buttons helps me to pull a consecutive JC. I use RMB as lock target which is a habit for FPS game user to use it as aim button
