buying Deluxe Edition RN?
should I wait to until the Special Edition to be release to buy the Deluxe Edition? or, assuming I but it right now, I'll get the Dark Slayer DLC?
I'm only afraid to waste money on some pointless unlockables while the actual exclusive stuff is not out yet

They don't have plans to release the Special Edition on PC, but Vergi;/Dark Slayer DLC is going to be available on PC.

Dark slayer is going to be a separate dlc. Deluxe only gives you ex skins, some more music and Dante's bike weapon with new look and a bunch of new moves.

Deluxe Edition is just the base game, extra Devil Breakers, alt. announcers (Nico for Nero, Morrison for Dante) and throwback battle themes

they were not though, in DMC4:SE and DmC they were all DLC, and anything prior to DMC4 had no DLC (and didn't included any bonus outside the base game)

It's not worth it. Plus I don't see why you wanna pay for something that Capcom deliberately stated that they would no longer support and update

Can you give us a source or a quote where they said that ?

Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition.
I would believe that if the whole point of this question was not about the upcoming update

HD collection is pretty much in the category I said it was released prior to DMC4:SE and even if after DMC4, the 3 (and a half) games where already finished years before the release of eithe 4 or HDC

I donno know. First I played 4SE and then when DMC HD Colection was avaiable i bought that game too. My point is that battle tracks 1-4 are INCLUDED in the game. Here you have to buy separatly which is a big no no.

I would wait for Special Edition cause that version will have everything from DE and more.
If somewhat SE will never appear on PC then you might? For me there is no value in upgrading my base game of the game to DE. I get used to DMC5 soundtrack and even Subhuman is somewhat bareable.
As for no support or upgrade yes the vergil dlc will be the last update for this game. From this point forward they will be focusing only on Special Edition.
I don't think that Vergil DLC is included in DE upgrade.

You can also see on the official web page of DMC5SE that it says PS5 and Xbox X only.
Special Edition is the definitive edition of the game. That update is not coming to PC. Naturally, any future updates related to SE will not come either. So in a way, the update (and likely support) for DMC5 on Steam is over
