To Mash or Not to Mash
So. Carpal Tunnel is the worst, I used to play DMC religiously as wee young teen instead of actually studying. Nowdays I can't play it for more than 2 hours without the pain kicking in.

Would it REALLY make any difference for the mashy inputs to be a HOLD ? I mean, mashing or not, the point of those moves is that if you're not paying attention to your surroundings, you get clocked in the head with a love knife right? Pressing a button really fast isn't that high of a skill ceiling, I have Carpal Tunnel but I can do it anyways, so the questions, why keep that fighting game thing in?

Cause that's just something it inherited from fighting games really, and in that made sense, it's a competition, the faster masher will end up dealing a tad more damage to the other, but this isn't that, I mean, you can kinda stretch and say ''the guy that makes madder mad combo video that mashes faster is the best!'' but, I don't care about that, I'm not one of those guys anymore.

I'm just saying that at least as an option it could help, or even as a test to see if it does makes a difference in skill play or it's just, whatever. Heck, pull a Phantom Pain and make that option affect your ranking, just at least have it.

I'll survive the mashing and all, i'm still playing the other games and stuff, it's just a matter of limiting my play sessions to an hour or two, but, I dunno. I'm saying this cause, i'm pretty sure if you're a dmc fan you are always signing up to a possible future carpal tunnel, in my case I also am an artist so, there's two things hecking it up, but, it's just, I want to know what is the big difference between these two options.

Mashing Vs Holding, what's your opinion on it?

It should be a setting in options.

I'm fine with both, as long as mashing isn't ridiculously hard on turbo. Game's moving faster, which means you have to mash even faster. If they can tweak that, then it's all good.

Oh yeah, is turbo coming back? In 3 turbo was way too mashy, but yeah, maybe a bigger window for the mash to be considered fast can help it too. The option would be reeeeally dope tho.

Hope it does, especially on consoles. I'm worried about it not existing on PS4 slim, because Pro is usually the one with extra options, and everyone who owned PS3/360 knew that turbo wasn't available due to limitations.

DMC3SE on ps2 had turbo? i mostly played dantes awakening on it, and only played turbo on that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ yet somehow better than HD pc port cause at least it had lots of mods, but i never played the ps2 one. I know 4 was a pc only thingie aswell as the legendary dark knight mode right? the one with the ♥♥♥♥ ton of enemies?

Yeah, but oddly, my PS2 copy of DMC:SE 3 did not have turbo.

Turbo edition is not available on PAL versions of DMC3/DMC3:SE if my memory is good. It's just for NTSC versions.

Oh that would actually make sense! That said, WHAT IS turbo mode? does it like, make the game faster as in, unlocks the framerate to achieve that? How does it work? Cause i used to think that it was like ''Oh this makes it go at 60 frames, which is why everythings faster'' ? Cause if it is that, then it makes sense that the PAL versions wouldn't have that.
