The thing is that Dante in Nocturne is a guest character, although his design is from DMC2 (design that curiously appeared first in Nocturne), he does not have the same personality in both games.
That's false.
Which version has Raidou instead of Dante?
This post is more confusing than helpful, sorry. PS2 version of the PS2 exclusive game? The first version that came out replaced Dante with Raidou, but Dante was actually retconned later?
Original Nocturne (Japan only) -> Nocturne Maniax Edition (With Dante, original US release and ofc released in Japan as well) -> Nocturne Maniax re-release (With Raidou, Japan only)
Also a friendly reminder that the Dante and Vergil's DMC3 devil forms were designed by the art lead for Shim Megami Tensei - It was a two-way collaboration. Raidou was likely dropped in less for "canon" reasons but simply for licensing reasons.
