V's cane *spoilers*

So what ever happened to V's cane, you see it floating in the background during the fight with his V's familiars so I figured, "Hey, maybe it'll unlock a new style like Dark Slayer, when you had Yamato" but then the fight ends and it just disappears. I mean there was no explanation for how the cane could kill demons and if it was a Devil Arm. Not like V had it when he split
