After the seperation though, his mind was also split in two. Urizen solely focusing on more power for powers sake, instead of Vergil's orginal reason for it and seemingly forgetting everything about himself other than his now twisted hatred of Dante. V retained his other memories along with a newfound understanding of what is truely like to be human.
V is neither evil nor good. His sole motivation is to be whole again. However he is only human now and his familiers(the left over corruption from Mundus) are not up to the task of fighting his now truely demon half. Hence the need for Dante's help.
1. V's motive was to be Vergil again
2. It was the only way that he survives
3. To be Vergil again
4. V is human part of Vergil (is Vergil evil or good?)
5. V couldn't defeat Urizen himself to become Vergil again, so he needed Dante for this
Something like this.
Also Vergil love Power. He need more power! Always.
