hm, might try X for exceed, I was using L1 but can't really charge gun while playing with LT.
I'll see if my 'funky ass multi-weapon charge hand grip' becomes less strenuous with this adjustment...
The important part (at least for me) was having the sword and exceed buttons on the same finger. It's easier to develop muscle memory for that one finger's motions than the synchronization between two fingers on different hands. But YMMV. You might be able to do something like RT=sword, RB=xceed and get the same advantage.
Wish i could remap the taunt to a thumb trigger tho'. Who even uses camera reset? the heck let me dunk that to the ground and put the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ taunt there capcom, ya fools!
This is Steam, you can actually bind exceed and melee to the same button using the Steam Client's controller configuration.
I recommend using an action set for Nero. This is easiest with a PS4 controller because you can turn the touch pad into two buttons and have a dedicated button for switching the control scheme. I like to use the other side for the advanced taunt < + LS click.
It can be done with the Xbox gamepad as well. I recommend putting the activator to switch control schemes as a double tap binding for the < button. That way it's hard to accidentally activate.
Anyway, use cycle binding and just make two regular press bindings. One for exceed, the other for melee. Turn interruptable off for both bindings.
Once done, you just have to get the timing down for pressing the attack button, and getting up to max exceed becomes super easy. It's much easier than using two buttons.
Also, my personal preference is to put lock on on LT and fire on RT. I use LB and RB for switching weapons with Dante and put DT on B/O, with the top button being Nero's arm/Dante's skill.
Most of this I set up in game, I only use the Steam Client controller config to set up Nero's controls for easy Exceed.
This scheme works for V really well as well, it makes charging Griffon's attacks easy, as well as making it easier to use Griffon and Shadow in tandem.
