I Really Hate Royal Guard's timing
Most of the times I feel like as if the game has input delays when pressing it just as the enemy hits me, Dante still gets hit cause timing is so crucial, the human eyes is very deceiving. I keep practicing this sh*t in the void and its still difficult and I guess the game expects you to remember every enemies attack timing but you will probably forget it within the next hour. Any Help with this style ?

You can react better and memorize their patterns easier.

Point of fact, I can get Vergil to half/three quarters of his health gone using RG and can basically face take Cerberus.

Also, using perfect block requires extensive pattern recognization so I'd simply rely on the normal ready guard mode most of the time until you got it down for each indiviual enemy type.

I keep reading that you time it before it would hit so Dante's animation delay lines the block with the actual hit to function properly.

I've been working on Nero and V so haven't had much time to work with Dante.

its feels a bit different than dmc 4, but you'll get used to it. i recommend practicing it on bosses, personal favorite would be on mission 19. and its really satisfying when you finally understand the timing and able to delivers a full gauge royal release

You don't need timing ,just hold the skill button and you will be invincible, that's why i love Royal Guard due to its easy defense and parry

You do need timing if you want to maximize it's effect though...hence this discussion lol.

Make sure you don't use Vsync.

some enemy attacks can break your blocks.

What timing? It takes one bar of dt when you block an attack

If u can guard just before the enemy attack , no DT consumed and instead it refilled DT bar , massively boosting style rank . Mission 19 SSS fights are no joke .

thanks for the tip.
