I had no issues with Geryon, since it was just one thing I had to lock on, it's pretty easy to dodge most of his stuff, tho' I struggled to go into offensive, I ended up relying in pot shots to build nightmare up. It'd be difficult to S rank the stage taking as much time as I did, but I still found everything else easier than Nidhogg.
Once Bloody Palace is released, I will finally be able to fight those bosses with Nero and Dante (without trainers), so bye bye V.
When you sidestep, Panther still goes straight to enemy like mad, sometimes likes to teleport right next to him. Griffon on the other hand is smarter and actually stays. What annoys me the most is that when you really need the panther to attack outside of boss fight, he most of the time likes to stand next to you instead of going for enemy, especially when it would help you to finish other enemy in peace.
Maybe the game just hates me
and can be tedious
Yeah but I just keep sidestepping to keep him near V, it's the sorta of thing that if he disappeared people would complain that he keeps disappearing too, and honestly if you had a call back move it'd sorta fix it but at the same time, it'd make everything easier, so maybe a DT callback to at least add resource to it.
I didn't find any of the Vs bosses out of Nidhogg annoying, maybe Artemis, but everything else worked well and didn't take that long outside of geryon which granted I was still learning the best way to deal with it, the White Cavaleire was super easy compared to it, since Shadow has so many continues attack that just parries everything. It's complicated cause, it relies on the person to learn the mechanics in a good way, I hear people complain that Nero is boring since he dosent do damage, buuuut if you learn to Rev good he dish out a lot of damage.
I personally hate playing as dante since my hands ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and tekken fingers are no more for this old man's hand. He has a lot of depth i can't possibly reach cause of that.
Another good tip is that using devil trigger instantly revives both familiars.
Don't forget that you can super power a single familiar as well, which is an easy way to just control one familiar if you're having trouble controlling the two simultaneously.
Other than that, using different control layouts can make using them much easier since charging the X+Y (or Square and Triangle) buttons on default controls a little easier. Maybe using L+R Bumpers or L1 and R1 for attacks? I haven't experimented much
Actually found a very good strategy for Nidhogg, now he's a walk in the park too... Just lock on into him and go all out with Nightmare, shadow and griffon doing his charge thunder nevan thingy, the tentacles will die by AOE, finish them off and deactivate Nightmare, Nidhogg will be stunned, while he's stunned just hit him with Shadow and Griffon while reading your book, rinse and repeat.
