Choose 1 character for the entire campaign?
Is it possible? Just like in dmc4 or 3, where you could just pick Vergil and play the game from start to finish with him (With no cutscenes tho)

No. It is varied and switches between V, Nero and Dante as you already know. There are split paths, where you can choose what character you want to play as (like 2 times), but that would be it.
What I don't get is why you ask, when you already have beaten the game - you already know that.

If you recall from DMC4SE, Vergil and Lady were able to play Nero levels with the implementation of a grappling mechanic for them. Trish was Dante levels cause she didn't have one. That is why Vergil was able to do the whole campaign while Trish could only do Dante levels.

Fast forward to DMC5, Nero still has a grappling mechanic. Dante and V do not which makes it impossible for them to play through Nero levels as a new mechanic would have to be created for 2 characters.

It's a fun idea to get more play time with certain characters, but mechanic design prevents that. **Spoiler** Plus, having V fight his own summons and his fully formed self at the end of the game would be quite the mindbender.

I didn't remember that Trish played Dante levels lol
I think, anyway, they could make a way for Dante and V to use the Grappling mechanic, at least when the story needs it. For Dante, they could just use his trickster jump (If i remember well, its very similar to what Vergil had in dmc4) and V, he could use the teleport skill he uses to finish enemies

Vergil had his sword as a grappling teleport. His 'devil buster' button (a single spectral sword throw) worked by teleporting to what the sword hit. So it worked with grappling points and enemies. Dante's trickster move cannot be spammed (we are talking about grappling points not enemy jump/canceling) so it wouldn't work. V's teleport cannot be spammed either (if you try you just cane slap the air repeatedly). In V's case...he doesn't really have anything to grab onto after the first teleport. You could get a double jump from Griffon...

Is it possible? Yes, but it requires re-coding, time, and balancing. Just changing Dante and/or V to do grappling points could create unintended combinations. Capcom is known for being like 'oh ♥♥♥♥, cool MORE COMBOS!" when that happens but there may be other unintended consequences (ex: warping into walls/floors and being stuck).

Best bet would be a SE in a year or so based on revenue from this game to fund the demand (if enough is there).

Well we had blue Vergil vs red Vergil in 3 so...

It doesn't make it impossible, you could just teleport them around or modify the levels. Vergil's summoned sword behaving as the devil bringer's snatch makes as much sense as V's cane or Dante's air trick would.

Poor word choice by me with "impossible," as there can be a way given enough time to re-code and implement it.

Vergil was specifically made years after 4's original release (2015 vs 2008) with enough demand to produce a SE of 4. In order to make Vergil playable for every level they had to come up with a new animation that simulates the bringer's snatch. **Spoiler** Being Nero's father, this isn't far fetched that they would share some similarities with their powers. Vergil being more focused while Nero is more blunt force. Teleporting to a sword location vs throwing a spectral arm to grab that location. Given this, it would be plausible to allow V to do something similar or hinder that capability due to being the human half with little demon power.
I'd play the whole game for Dante or Nero.

Yeah, me too.
I don't really care if im forced to change between them, but i don't really like V's gameplay, so the missions i have to play as him, end up being really boring to me.

That actually is a disappointment. I'd love to play trough entire game with one character. The constant character switching was.. it was not annoying, but I am not a fan of it.

I wish.. but maybe once Mods start becoming more populated someone will make something that allows it? Like even a Model switch/character switch. I wouldn't mind playing V the whole game, I quite enjoyed him... I'm a huge summoner fanatic in MMOs and something they did with V, It kinda just clicked with me... like super hard.

Then simply use the Coop Trainer on nexusmods, it includes a Divergence mode.
