The last chance mechanic has been stripped out entirely you no longer live with 1 hp
Several attacks have no audio queue only animations for tells, this is an issue because audio is a lot easier to recognize and react to. Luckily the off screen rule is very strict this time around, I've only been hit by an off screen enemy once so far. But the camera also goes out of its way to try and keep enemies on screen this time around which is annoying when youre trying to use it to exploit the ai, it feels like its fighting you.
There's no consumables this time around, a choice I'd happily be behind if there wasn't microtransactions since I haven't used them since my first time going through DMC1 before I was good enough to care about ranks.
Some attacks are technically fair because theyre consistent but still come out without ANY telegraphing. (an example of this is shadow's hedgehog which always comes out after his ground buzzsaw move, if you know that's the case the first attack telegraphs the second but there's no way to know that ahead of time).
Several enemy attacks especially on bosses can combo into each other leaving you with no way to recover if you get hit once and can result in 80 of your hp gone from 1 mistake, if you made one already you're going to die to these.
Lastly there was one or two moves that just seemed completely unfair based on circumstance (the last boss' "judgement cut" attack can happen seemingly out of nowhere and if you're against a wall already its impossible to get out in time) Though that one there might be a tell or a situation that queues that attack to happen.
Ultimately these don't matter since the end goal is to never get hit but not getting hit is pushed into questionable territory when there's some light attacks like griffin's basic shots which hit you before you even realize hes firing. These don't do a lot of damage but if you're going for a no hit run attacks like those can be really frustrating.
Vergils Judgement cut has a 2s long telegraph where he slightly squads and holds his hand on his weapon, very easy to tell.
Yea the bubble appears and you have variable amounts of time to get out of it. Easy with trickster, not so much with nero. Again, if you're against a wall when he starts this attack you don't have time to run past him to get out of it, nero doesn't have any movement options which allow him to go away from an enemy (aside from reverse attack claibur which is a glitch).
Positioning is a thing, you don't want to be backed up in a corner anyway and considering you can dodge in any directtion you clearly missplayed if you find yourself in that situation. With that being said, Nero can use gerbera as a fast movement option or you can nullify the attack by having Nero destroy his arm which gives him immunity frames. It's not like the game will force a certain unavoidable situation on you where dodging an attack is impossible. Learning patterns and learning from mistakes is part of the game, whats with this millenial I'm always a winner attitude. Grow up and learn from mistakes.
I would actually put this game as easier than 1, 3, and 4, but not as easy as 2 or DmC.
Nope, this is literally the case of scrubs need to actually practice and get good and stop expecting to just walk through Normal difficulty with no effort like most games these days. If it's really that bad, play on easy. That's what it's there for.
