FPS problem

i am really confused in some area in dmc 5 my fps drops into 50 fps but the workload from my gpu and cpu is around 50-60% and the funny part is when i want to lower the graphics settings then i have still the fps drops no matter which setting this makes no sense have anybody the same problem?

Can you monitor the heat? Sounds to me like a heating issue, from experience

Some games which aren't very well optimized can cause certain gpus and cpus to heat up like crazy

It can also happen that the thermal paste for the cpu is getting old so, even though it's not being used 100%, it still overheats. Again, going by my own experience xD

I have the same issue but even less of my GPU is being used and there is def no heat issues even on 4K it won't even go past 40c, might try a different driver tomorrow though.

This is a moronic suggestion but have you tried running it as admin?

Either way, if it isn't a heat issue then it sounds like an optimization problem. Which is most likely the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Denuvo. Jesus ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ christ....this is just ridiculous

Yeah it doesn't seem to matter unfortunately just like changing graphics settings does nothing just like the OP said.

Did you try changing the game from directx 12 to directx11? That helped with the FPS drops for me

Found those 2. Hope it helps but seems like we're going to have to wait for some official fix.

Might I ask how to do that, I saw another post saying that but it's not just an option you can change in-game or not that I've found anyways.

C:\Program files\Steam\Steamapps\common\Devil May Cry V\dmc5config.ini

If I remeber right once you open it you have to look for TargetPlatform=directX and make sure it spells TargetPlatform=DirectX11

I'm a bit drunk by now so I may me misremembering a bit

i already did thats not the problem my cpu shows 50-55C and my GPU 60C

I have this problem really bad in mission 14. Framerate just drops from 80 to 30 with CPU and GPU being at 60% usage. Happens in the spiral trail after the 3 bosses. I suspect it is a CPU bottleneck linked to the data upload feature and cameo.

Try disabling the online features and share your findings with us

But it is still strange because it doesn't matter which graphics setting I even set the resolution less 720p and still the same fps this is so confusing :/
