This game breaks that trend and has melee swings are bound to M1, melee is M2 and stuff like nero's arm attacks and dantes style specific imputs are M3 (typically your mouse wheel).
This game also has camera controls bound to moving your mouse around but it can get kind of weird to control since it snaps onto targets when they're around but I don't think this is a PC specific jank.
Other commands like dantes styles, taunts and nero's exceede are bound to keys close to the WASD keys by default which is also pretty nice.
Typically it's recommended to play games like these and fighting games with a gamepad but I'm a bit of a sperg and always use KB+M on everything and I can confidently say the controls are fairly well implemented in this game.
