it's practically a guarantee that vergil will be playable at some point, he's completely fleshed out in the game with a full moveset, animations, models, all the mechanics etc. he even shows up in the main menu hanging with the other chars inside the dmc van after you complete the story once

I'm thinking there could be an epilogue DLC where dante and vergil bust out of hell

We could missions where we see Vergil before he takes Nero's arm, like an prologe, than him in hell with Dante, maybe even asking Dante about Nero.
