Low fps - CPU problem?
Can anyone help me, like I really don't understand the performance options in this game. Doesn't matter if I have (on 1080p resolution) 150% scaling or 100% scaling, performance is the same. Especially it's a problem in mission 2 (when those tentacle things show up).

Same for the rest of the options.

I think that I have a CPU problem, because it doesn't seem to be utilizing more than 50% while playing the game (according to the task manager). I mean, in some scenes I have like 35 fps (not cutscene, gameplay).

My spec:

gtx 1060 6gb
8gb ddr3
i5-3350p

and installed on Samsung SSD 850. It's really impossible to play, because whenever fps drops it goes into heavy slow motion.

For example, is it normal that I have 40-50 fps on 1080p with this rig?
I tried changing to the Denuvo free EXE and Target Platform to DirectX 11, but it's the same.
Also tried switching in nvidia settings to maximum performance but still nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Low ram and cpu

Your CPU is too weak when you have the same performance at 150% scale and 100% scale.

If they did 99% of the Denuvo threads also wouldn't exist.

To be fair the 3350p easily beats the 6300, but it should be paired with a weaker GPU like a gtx 1050/rx 460, the 1060 6gb is just too much for it to handle.

True that.

Not at all, actually the 6300 is a close match for the 4460. The 4460 is slightly better than the 6300 in single threaded performance while the 6300 is slightly better than the 4460 in multithreaded performance.

They're really quite even, the 3350p is behind both but admittedly close. The point is we're scraping the bottom of the barrel here regardless.

The 6300 is killed by a i3 2100 in DMC 5. You obviously don't understand how weak FX is.

It's an unbalanced rig, with a GPU that is too strong for the CPU.

If you have some time try to setup a program called "MSI Afterburner". With that you can see your CPU and GPU usage and much more. So if your CPU usages goes close to 100% its that what is bottlenecking. You will also be able to see which option is CPU and which GPU dependant.

Are you using one of the latest Nvidia drivers? If so, try going back to 417.35 driver, I saw this yesterday in some topic here, and worked for me and a bunch of people
