Playing as V is really not fun
Its Devil May Cry 2 tier 'spam distance attacks' all over again. Very questionable why they went with this concept, and worse yet you are forced to play as him. I think people would have much preferred to have a choice to play as Dante or Nero from start to finish. 10 years ago when DMC4 came out, people in general disliked the fact you were forced to change characters half way through, so im not sure why Capcom went with this idea again but made it even worse.

Its all opinion really. I especially like his combat style more personally.

V feels like what Nero was in DMC4 — an easy character that can combo the ♥♥♥♥ out of enemies if you do it right. Personally, I enjoy his combat style so far.

V is really the weakest of the trio from what I have played. Damn shame since I thought his play style could be interesting

I think he would be a lot better with remapped controls (I guess players can do that themselves though).

The problem for me is that where X controls Griffon and Y controls Shadow you feel like you can't really use both simultaneously unless you're either: A) Using hold attacks or B) Pretty much button mashing, because what with how close the buttons are to each other you can only dedicate one thumb to two buttons.
If they were further apart though it would be a lot more manageable to control them both simultaneously by using two of either finger/thumb, kind of like playing a rhythm game where you would easily do multiple combos through different buttons at once.

I guess there's also the option of playing with what people call a "claw grip" but personally I just can't stand playing like that.

Well deck can always try remapping griffin to one of the triggers. I remember doing that for guns in DMC4. Actually didn't bother to see if I could do it in 5. I remember it made using guns and swords way easier

He's not that bad imo. Still fun to play, just a little button mashy, but maybe he hasn't "clicked" for me yet.
I´m undecided about him , on one hand it doesn´t feel like I am completely in contol of what´s going on..on the other hand I get sss rank by mashing buttons.

concept is really cool though.

I think his sss ranking too easy but other that he is crazy awesome to combo with. I think high level play with him is going to look amazing.
I have decided on him.

I hate playing as him, feel disconnected from the action.
Would have prefered if at least the cat was a extension of V ..like it was always appearing infront of V when you pushed attack so you controled the cat by moving V instead of how it is now.

But the other two are great and you don´t have to play him that much so doesn´t really make the game worse.

Soooo I was not looking forward to V when I saw post like these but since I started playing and buying abilities V has EASILY become my favorite character to play as.

to each his own, maybe I´ll enjoy him more after some high level players release some guides and good looking gameplay. Maybe it just hasn´t clicked yet.

Right now I´ll take Dante anyday. He get´s better the more ridicolous weapons he picks up.

That's why you have auto buff for each. You can use it on griffon and then spam whatever you want with shadow.

Yeah I feel ya dude. I think I need more playthroughs to get used to his style. All I do right now is spam auto-attack while recharging DT lmao

Controlling the panther is hell, or maybe I haven't figured it out properly

I remeber back in the day when some group of plebs complained about Vergil with the very same statement.

Turns out they simply sucked and lacked the skill to get the best out of the character.

Go play AssCreed or some other random Ubi$hit game.
