So I have to buy a descent checkpoint system?
You have an option to buy continues? Just a coincidence then that this is the first DMC game or action game period I can't get past the first boss... hmmm interesting.

No. It's just to revive wherever you are. You can use in game currency or buy. But still, the fact that you have the option to buy is very shady because CLEARLY the game design must have taken that into account.

What annoys me is every action game has boss check points nowadays. Yes this is a throwback but can't remember any such microtransactions BS in the 2000's.

Mm, I didn't die yet so I didn't know they had that option. Seems lame, but I guess there is demand for it. I'd just ignore it and pretend it isn't there. I don't think the game has an unfair difficulty.

1. Gold orbs are generous if you play decently.
2. I don't know how you can't get past the first boss, I've been playing DMC4 before this came out and even that is much harder than this.

unless you were a toddler that probably was an advantage. ha. Back in the day action games were a lot easier for me so maybe that's it. I pretty easily beat Ninja Gaiden black then too. There is no way these beat up fingers and carpal tunneled wrist can do that now.

I think you're just bad as Goliath is easy. The game isn't hard at all and they give you red orbs left, right and centre so there's no way you'd ever even need to think about buying them.

Do you have any pointers to beating the first boss. The big sorta yetti looking guy with horns?

First Boss got me when I got him.....had to use the free gold orb but it is doable. Playing on Devil difficulti.
Maskeno Mar 8, 2019 @ 4:01am
I haven't used a single gold orb yet, I've found several. Blew through the first boss, didn't die until the third and hitting give up just put me right before the fight.

I get it, mtx is gross, but this game is no harder than the og installments and gold orbs are for babies. No good game has mid health bar non formchange checkpoints. Imagine if a game just let you start over on a half health boss with no punishment. Yawn.

I very doubt the game design took that into account. The bosses and fights in general have felt very easy and I'm not even a very good action game player since I rarely play these kinda games. And on the harder difficulties that's probably unlocked post game most players would refuse the option just out of pride for their skills. So yeah the microtransactions is just there really if you really want/have to use it

I was going to say this. Whilst I haven't played much yet, DMC4 was much more difficult from what I have played so far.
I can understand not liking the option being there but for me it is as if it doesn't exist. Throughout the entire series I've always refused to use those orbs (except in the first game, since they were needed for checkpoints)

Hmm, is that arm that lets you bounce in the air available? Confused whats dlc or in game since the game was throwing them at me. That works well anyways, air comboing him,or just making sure to stay behind him and not let him swipe you. Don't know his moves much

I havent had a chance to boot up the game yet. What difficulties are available at the start? I'd rather not start on the normal difficulty.. lol
It's just to revive on the spot. You can just say no and restart the boss fight like any other game. Only plebs use items/revives.
