How many of you will actually play this with JP voices?
I'll say it clearly that I'm not asking for a logical or illogical war about deciding the better one. I just wanted to see how many of us are out there. Oh and if you want to share your reasons behind choosing the JP one, please do so without dissing the EN one and fresh reasons are much appreciated.

I grew up with the English voices, so that's what I'll play it with. It's kind of like the dub vs sub argument in Dragon Ball. A lot of people grew up with the dub, especially in the US. And I can't really differentiate between Japanese accents, so I'll choose English just to experience Nico's glorious accent, LMAO.

I have been used to the english voices mainly because of not even being a choice previously. However I think I will play with both out of curiosity.

As for my personal tastes If think the english language fits Dante like Ketchup on fries. :happyotus:

There's no point to the JP voices since the original VO of the games has always been US. In fact DMC4 was the first game to include JP voices. Up until that point the games only had a US VO

usually i always pick japanese voices if i play an anime game for example.
but im too used to dante and nero's english voices at this point, so i'll just stick with english

When i'm able i'll always get the original voices in any game i play or series i watch. i strongly dislike dubs. The only ones i kinda tolerate are the ones for Rurouni Kenshin and Dragonball because i grew up with them but as soon as i discovered the subbed versions i never went back. Dubs just feel lazy and i just feel that Not a single other race screams better than the japanese do, ofcourse this is subjective but i've had chills go down my spine from some scenes and just cringe at them when they were dubbed. But if you prefer the dubs ? Go for it i'll never tell someone not to enjoy something, there's enough misery in the world without people having to ♥♥♥♥ on other people's fun even if they don't agree with it.(even though plenty of people do just that lol)

Well, I'm used to the schlocky english voice over now, and I kind of like it. I'll watch Japanese movies in Japanese, because the voice is actually coming from the mouth on screen and it works better to sync the acting with the actor. But for games? Just not the same, and the voice is already separated from the "actor" on screen, so having it be english isn't a loss as I'm concerned. I don't recall anything being inherently Japanese about the lore either. It seems more representative of a depiction of the US than Japan.

English, because this game (as well as this series) has been thought, designed and concieved with english voice acting in mind. This is the orginal version. The "new" Dante from DMC3 was "created" by Reuben Langdon in a certain way, making the new Dante his character. The same can be mostly said about Johnny Yong Bosch and Dan Southworth, they work closely with Capcom to create those characters. They "are" those characters so to speak, if you understand what I mean.

The Japanese voices are nothing more than a dubbing, an adaptation.

I'll use the japanese voices once in a while though, for fun. I tried them in the demo, and I don't feel like they add anything to the game.

I can agree with this. Reuben Langdon is pretty much the OG Dante for me. When I replayed DMC1 and 2, hearing a different voice felt a bit off...

I just think that the english voices fit the characters better. Ive listened to versions of the trailer and to me the english voices sound better. Also Im just used to the english version of DMC.

Lip sync is in English, so I'll be playing in English. It's way too distracting when the lip sync is off in story sequences.

Second run I'll use the japanese voices because it is kind of satisfying to hear them scream in animu rage when hitting enemies, it's also probably gonna help me in college a bit. I advise you to use the English original voices first and then change them to japanese, I feel like this is the right way to experience the story for the first time.

I will play with the english ones as that is how i met the series with the first game, but it might be worth checking the jpn ones out, never did it.
