About the art and lip syncing
The more I look at the trailers for this game, at the cutscenes, the more I'm getting concerned.

I enjoy the devil may cry games. The stories aren't spectacular, but I enjoyed them for what they were worth.

However with DMC5, I can't be the only one who thinks the art styles for this game are incredibly ugly to look at for the human models. The 3D models in cutscenes just seem off to me, and the models lip flaps for the english dub looks incredibly awkward and exaggerated, not to mention incredibly distracting.

Am I the only one concerned about this?

ty for staying back and play something else.
If you ask me, it's the uncanny valley effect due to the use of photogrammetry.

RE2 has the same problem where the character faces don't always look right for some reason.

Yeah, the photogrammetry for re 7 and remake did throw me off considerably. It's just...they're flesh looks constantly overly sweaty.

go watch the new video about how they make the live action cut scenes on the official DMC youtube. Even the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ van is based on an actual van prop they which I found particularly hilarious - second only to the guys dressed in black silk as V's two pet demon familiars lol.

Nothing ever looks perfect - you can get close, but never perfect. For a start the actors are all Asian and probably speaking Japanese or w/e language, so the lip sync is always going to be off for anyone watching using English as their main language.

This is the case for many games and even anime - re-doing lips or entire cut-scenes is actually incredibly costly, and then to do it for EVERY language, as lets be fair just because we speak English does not entitle us to a better experience than anyone else, you would have to do it for all the languages supported to be fair.

From what I have seen and heard so far however, I think you are really stopping yourself from playing a great game just because of lip syncing.
