RE2 has the same problem where the character faces don't always look right for some reason.
with the exception of Ada who looks hot through the whole game.
Yeah, the photogrammetry for re 7 and remake did throw me off considerably. It's just...they're flesh looks constantly overly sweaty.
Cause thats how flesh and human faces work. LOL
Nothing ever looks perfect - you can get close, but never perfect. For a start the actors are all Asian and probably speaking Japanese or w/e language, so the lip sync is always going to be off for anyone watching using English as their main language.
This is the case for many games and even anime - re-doing lips or entire cut-scenes is actually incredibly costly, and then to do it for EVERY language, as lets be fair just because we speak English does not entitle us to a better experience than anyone else, you would have to do it for all the languages supported to be fair.
From what I have seen and heard so far however, I think you are really stopping yourself from playing a great game just because of lip syncing.
