I never did that before. But I hate replaying the whole Mission and was advised to use this technique. Because supposedly it has no penalty and you still win the "No Continue" bonus?
I actually restarted, loading suddenly fixed
Then ALT+F4 assassin a few times and after like 4 times the game became very unstable. Crashing. Application error crash. And loading times like 2 minutes long when doing continue. And very very laggg and long between menus and restarting.
Super weird bug. I hope it solve itself because nothing seem to work again.
I used to see the bar skips in big jumps - but now it fills super slowly.
What was 2-5 seconds loading times is no 20-30 or 1 minute.
Also when starting the Mission from the customize menus I gwt another long 20 seconds+.
And when I skip cutscene theres an abnormally long black screen (5-10 seconds).
This is irritating. I can't enjoy the game normally.
Did Capcom screa up the game further?
My loading used to be so fast I couldn't finisg reading the texts.
Also using Samsung 850 Evo SSD.
No loading problems - until yesterday that is...
Also had several application error crashes.
Now every load is so slow and laggy, even existing a statue.
Did they reinforce Denuvo again???
Edit: I also get crashes to desktop but they're very, very rare for me
I actually had it running with quick loading times even after the Denuvo Patch - but this started recently.
The game also has numerous crashes, application failure exists and freezes+CTD. Broken state and seems like Capcom don't plan to fix the game ever.
The performance is also much worse than it was on launch. And it could have even be better on launch if they optimize it.
Yea dammit, I'm still on the old version of the game without denuvo and I actually had to take screenshots of the loading screens just to read the story/mission descriptions. Otherwise I could ready only the first 2-3 lines at most. But I can't justify to go with denuvo only to be able to read it the first time around!
I remember also having to take screenshots of the story texts, or read 2-3 lines at a time.
I even laughed when my brother tried to read it super quickly - and it finished and switched screen every time.
I was saying: "loadings are too fast, how did they expect anyone to read this?".
You play the old Denuvoless? Don't you have issues? Are you missing features like BP? Where did you even get it from?
So whatever they did to mess it up is highly reverse-able. But they don't care to fix it...
Honestly I don't know how well or not the denuvo version performs as I never had it running with dmc5 on this system. That's why I asked around, because I know how poorly lords of the fallen and rime ran on the other build - after that I haven't ran anything with denuvo over the years. I wouldn't even bought dmc5 for as long as it had denuvo, but I read that there was a leaked legit exe without denuvo (which was not a crack even!) and the game was included with a gpu I bought earlier this year so no point in not trying I thought.
Got both the game files and the denuvoless exe from steam itself last month, however the exe was pulled down from archive/database and is unavailable for some time now. I have it backed up and I'm sure internet has it backed up too. I would just cross-check the mb5 or sha1 hashes to make sure it's legit file if I were to download it from outside of steam.
The build I'm using is the first release one, from march 8th in combination with the leaked exe from QA branch - both simply swapping out the current build. So I don't have any added content post-launch, like blood palace. But honestly to me, it's a small price to pay for now.
Networking works, I get that gold orb for logging in and for getting the rating on stages, I get achievements (those which are obtainable in this early version ofc), I got card-drops and logged gameplay time as usual. I didn't get a single crash in 30+ hours and the only time I see slight dips from my target fps is when there is that double online-replay in the background in one stage or two. I imagine it would be more pronounced with denuvo in place though.
As a side note, since I never had the denuvo build up and running nor any of updated versions either, I had no problems with save files being wiped or corrupt. I imagine that would be the case if you played on newer version and reverted back. Forced steam updates are pita, but I will work around it, even if it means I have to redownload the game or something. Have the saves manualy backed up just in case too.
I have no desire to update for as long as denuvo is present. Whoever leaked that exe via QA branch (by design or simply a mistake) made some of us a great service. I imagine that in the last update they enabled additional drm checks to ensure you are running the latest protected exe along with those new pak files, which could explain those way longer loading times you reported.
Let me explain; so my hardware is: i9 12900k, RTX 3080, 32Gb RAM, MSI DDR 5, 1 Tb SSD, 500 Gb SSD...
I downloaded like more than 10 mods, played fine, game was loading super fast everything was taking between 2-3 seconds to load. But after an estimated period of 1 month, my game started loading slowly, not only that but even my ULTRAKILL started loading with a difference of 5-6 seconds when it used to load between 1-2 seconds. Does anyone why why such thing's happenin' ?
By default my Capability DX is 12 and TargetPlatform DX is 11
