How to disable the censorship
Capcom doesn't bother letting us see people killed and skewered but either my god, an ass, censor it!
So since it's an 18+ let's play it like an 18+ and take away those hell of embarrassing lights.

it's simple, right click on the mouse on Devil May Cry 5 in your Steam library, then click "Properties" then "Local Files" then "Browse Local Files" and once you get to the Devil May Cry 5 folder you'll find a file called " dmc5config "open it (is a text file), under" DepthOfFiledEnable "you will find set to" true "delete and write false, like this:
DepthOfFiledEnable = false
Now save the file by clicking "save" at the top left in "File" and enjoy the game as it should be, 100% mature:cozybethesda:

Dude, just turn off lens flare. That's the entire effect covering Lady's ass, and it's one damn scene. Also to note, the probable reason that scene has a lens flare covering her ass, is the fact that it's from such a low angle, you'd be able to see her lady parts (get it) and her model doesn't have any.

In theory, if you turn off the Leans flare, you will also lose other types of lights, not just those of censorship.
If, on the other hand, you follow this procedure, only the glow on the complaints will be deactivated and below is not as empty as you think, I suggest you try to see the difference in the movie in the gallery for example.
And then there are more than one scene and it's not so much for that, but because it's embarrassing to censor this kind of details in a game like that, I prefer to play it 100% I don't want Capcom's parents protection hahahah

I think the “censoring” is just supposed to be a joke. This has been done before where a camera angle or lens is used to block sensitive areas for humor.

idk but if someone want, can try

Wait so, the censorship is not only on the PS4 US version? I thought that PC version was uncensored.

I think people are blowing this way out of proportion. It's like 10seconds of butts. You see more crack from Trish in DMC4. It's not like this game is a fanservice game and it's not like this censor style hasn't been used as a joke before(it's actually kinda common in japanese games that aren't trying to cross over to H but still holding that icchi fanservice).

I can't imagine making my whole game look worse because I just simply had to see 2 butt cracks for 10 seconds. Yes I get it, it's a M18 game. However it's not treating you the way you think it is. It's like those people who find Family Guy very offensive yet they enjoy South Park. Other games actually censor and here you are getting outraged over 10seconds in a game not dedicated to fsnservice while fanservice games get censored.

PC version is not censored. The european PS4 version covers the segment where Dante saves naked Trish. The Lady scene is clearly a joke, but since pc is magic we can disable the lights anyway
Ladys blanket drop scene is censored on everything but we can see Trish just fine in the Dante scene on PC and Xbox.

It's not censored if you turn down the graphics it removes the flare. You don't see much more than you do with the flair. It's not "censored". PS4 and Xbox run at lower graphics than PC. Certian parts of the game run certain settings to make the game look good and run good(though it doesn't stay a stable 60fps, good enough). The flare is present on the japanese PS4 pro and XboX versions of the game.

This is not some attempt to treat people like kids. You can remove the graphic setting easily. In doing so you lower the beauty of the game cause butt cracks. You know when you say it outloud is sounds far worse than when you type it.

I originally didn't know it had a lens flare because I was playing on Low(didn't know Dx12 was making my game poop) my first play through. Atleast until I got on the forums and seen this outrage.

If it was censored you would have to mod the game in order to uncensor it. It's just a goofy joke with graphic effects that can be toggled on and off.

Elf, buddy. This got me kinda wondering what might cause poor performance of dx12. I can't test it since I run W7 on this desktop but I wonder if it's the game itself, or something else. Do you happen to have gtx900 series or older nvidia gpu? Have you tried dx12 mode with denuvo-less exe to see if it makes any difference in that regard?

Without the denuvo dx12 crashes me around particle effects similar to dirt. Even on lowest settings 720res I still get a crash (GTX970 btw). I have a feeling it has something to do with the rendering. Sure things look better but I doubt it's optimized for low end PCs. Much like Dx11, it's only focused on the hardware of it's generation it seems.

I could be wrong.

It could also be that the maxwell series GPUs like your 970 are absolutely terrible at DX12.

Fair enough.

Ah right, thanks for the info. I think then it's a mix of a couple different factors. One is (as Seamus posted above) that Maxwell and older nvidia architectures have no asynchronous compute support until gtx1000 series, so they don't see tangible performance boost in dx12 and vulkan. Just surprised to see actually a way worse/broken performance instead. On the other hand, the specific issue of 970 might be also contributing to some extent (that 512MB portion of slow Vram might be used up too). Then software implementation might cause issues as well.

It just surprised me. I would have tested it myself but can only use dx11 build on this machine and it runs denuvoless exe on the first release build (March 8 iirc). I remember reading that some newer patches introduced worse performance on some hardware setups, but can't verify.

Oh and that lens flare buttcrack, it kinda made me laugh tbh after realizing where I subconsciously gazed and the game was like "nooope, too shiny to behold".

Lol ikr. Not like it lasted for an eternity or the whole game revolved around it. It was afew lewd moments. If anything Nico is in more shock than the people who never expected this cliche to happen.

Guys I have only done this guide but you can also not use it, the only difference is that there is indeed no light on the ass of lady, then in trish I have not arrived yet, then I do not know about ps4 this is a guide for pc .
Turning off the lens flare I think it also turns off different reflections, but I didn't check, in any case, joke or not or whatever it is, if you want to try, I put the guide.
I am not criticizing the game I love it, I found only a censorship so forced there, I just preferred to have it original let's say, for the rest you see, so you can always rewrite "true" and everything returns as before.
