Use other save files?

I pirated DMC5 when it first came out because I had no money, I've bought it since then and tried to use the save from my pirated version. It doesn't seem to be working though, is there no way to make the game recognize it? I don't want to unlock everything again for Bloody Palace

Save files are in game folder, just copy them. May need you to do it without internet connection. And make sure you don't have cloud saving ON when doing this.

It's probably a similar deal to Dragon's Dogma where the save file has your steam user ID and is disqualified if it doesn't match. You either configure the crack to use the same ID (usually entirely numerical) or use a save editor on what you currently have and change that specific field.

that seems to be the case since the game will keep creating a new save file even after I overwrite it with the pirated version's file, i don't know where or how to change that field in the save, so I guess I'll have to start over, thanks anyway

Maybe use Cheat Engine to get your Orbs back? Not the best solution, but shouldn't be too bad.

I'll probably do that, unfortunately I'll still have to play through the story again to get Nero's DT and all the weapons
