I bet some never got the meaning.
Because clearly V is the one who gave Urizen the name YOUR-REASON because he wanted to stimulate Dante with the motivation for fighting his Devil half.
Urizen clearly didn't bother with names, therefore he doesn't recognize the name "Urizen" given by V.
V also says he has no name too, and 2 days old because truly he was basically few days old (didn't check the date) since being "born" after the split.
Also note that Dante never calls the Devil Urizen -because he only ones him as his brother.
Reason...
One half...
Furthermore, another fun reference:
In the DMC Anime Dante says at episode 10:
"When someone picks a fight with me, I give it to him. It's the only REASON I fight".
Well, we all know that Vergil ALWAYS picks a fight with Dante, hence giving him *reason* for fighting.
When I watched the scene for the first time I thought of the anime, since I watched it recently before release.
Afrer Dante says: "Special? What's so special about this one?"
V replies while articulating the words: "This demon is Urizen. Ur-rizen for fighting".
The way he pronounces "Youreason" can't be mistaken and can't be unheard.
It's funny, I wasn't focused at the screen - which made me *hear* the Urizen
vividly and sharply.
Then I was "URIZEN. AHH....NOW I GET IT!"
It's only fitting that Vergil/V will send a message to Dante that way.
Just listen and understand ;)
i love your pfp
It's totally intentional. Have you perhaps read my last 3 posts and rewatched the scene?
I'm surprised I'm the only one who discovered and noticed that.
It's actually goes hand in hand with William Blake reference - because Urizen is a good that embodies REASON. Also considered one HALF of a deity with an opposite half as rival. So it's no coincidence.
Plus he deliberately pronounces the name Urizen. Emphasizing the *Ur* and *Ri-zen*. It unmistakeable, at least for me.
