Will we have the option to play as Dante ONLY???

Dante has always been the main focus of the Devil May Cry series.

I don't want to play as Nero and all those other side characters. I hated the part where you had to play as Nero in DMC4. If Dante wasn't in DMC, I wouldn't play the game.

Is DMC5 going to force us to play secondary characters or can we choose to be Dante throughout the whole game?

And thank ♥♥♥♥ they brought his original hair back. Short black-haired Dante in the DMC reboot totally ruined the game for me because he felt like a completely different character. Change for the sake of change isn't always good thing.

Ignorant in what way? Can’t say I follow. Them being different genres (something I am well aware of…) does not alter or affect what was being discussed, I wasn’t mentioning gameplay, and storytelling and character development is not something that any particular game genre has a monopoly on, so I don’t get that either.

Im buying the game anyways, but personally I would rather have the option to select which characet to use.

At least from my experience with all the previous games and the gameplay vidoes of DMC5 I would rather play as Dante and Nero only. I have enjoyed every single DMC (yes even the DMC reboot everyone chose to forgot about and DMC4).

My concern is this new character V? (is that what hes called?). At least from the videos I have seen he looks more like a magic/summon kind of character instead of a melee/hands-on character. Basically a ♥♥♥♥♥ that stand back and lets someone else handle the dirty work. I hope he can be a more hands-on kind of character or else Im sure Im not going to enjoy his levels.

This game is looking sick. Cant wait.

Yeah, there is about 10 missions per character and in some of them you will be able to chose.
But if you watched a little bit of what was showed you would've notice that only Nero appears in the demo's cutscenes (aside from Nico), so it 's pretty clear it's a Nero-only level, and for the same reason, the Dante mission 11 shown at TGS, it's a Dante-only mission.
I think the only levels where you can choose between characters is where there is another character in the level alongside you.

That DMC reboot made me fall in love with this game tbh, I didn't like nor dislike DMC4 back then.

Truth, the leap in quality between DMC 3 and DMC 4 are big AF, and DMC 5 is showing red flags such as microtransactions and the dev team taking inspiration from DMC: Devil May Cry etc i'll keep a cautious eye on DMC 5

There will be a Bloody Palace survival mode free DLC which is what you will probably retire to after a story playthrough... and for the survival mode you can choose any characters you have unlocked... just play survival mode with Dante everytime, that's my plan...
