Armin Consistently Dying

Is there anything I can do to fix Armin consistently dying in "Ch 1 Ep 5 - Wound" on the last objective? It fails the mission and I have to restart from saving either Bertholdt or Reiner, I finish off the titan there and head to the final objective of helping Eren, and that's when Armin dies, halfway through clearing the titans out of the area there. It seems that he just randomly dies and it mostly happens to him, it's only happened a few times with other characters.

either you can always be near him and destroy all titans in his path, or when a titan grabs him, you can use a light pistol

Thats just the thing though, he doesn't get the chance to be saved. It's a sudden message out of nowhere: "Armin has died. The battle has been lost." I obviously can't keep my eye on him at all times. With the chaos of inferno mode, I have to be focusing on the titan that I'm attacking or the few that are attacking me, and the game never breaks that focus with the normal "SOS" time-stop when he's in trouble. He just straight up dies out of nowhere and has no chance to be saved. Especially with my equipment, despite being the best available without costing an arm and a leg equal to hours of grinding to reinforce.

I just completed this mission to double ss rank and did not have any problems with Armin. I have no idea how you could have a problem

I am having the exact same issue. I do not get the usual "S.O.S" warning and it seems to trigger every time I'm standing in a specific spot. Like I noticed that whenever it happens the view from the "Dire News" message is EXACTLY the same.
