The store page for each episode literally tells you how to access them:
"A new episode "EPISODE_NAME" is added to the Daily Life section in "Story Mode", and as a "Scout Mission" in "Another Mode".
▼You can play the new episode by performing either of the following:
1. Select "Another Mode" on the main menu, and then talk with a Scout. Select the new episode from the "Scout Mission" list.
2. Select "Story Mode" on the main menu, and then talk with a Scout in the Daily Life section. Select the new episode from the "Scout Mission" list."
Which means it is accessible from both the Story Mode &/or Another Mode.
In daily mode only purchases and upgrades are available
So at some point those episodes will be open?
And character episodes is separate game mode unrelated to story?
So no reason to touch it due to no rewards? (Same as territory mode)
Correct.
While it does add to the original story [basically adds Season 3 content], it is a separate mode & I've heard many people feel it is tedious being forced to play other characters. Personally, I haven't even bothered with this mode yet as I haven't heard of any rewards that make it worth it.
On an unrelated note, props on the username.
