AoT 2 for Switch or PC?

Hi!

Wondering what you guys think. I am a pc gamer at heart, with a 1080ti super machine, etc. I owned AoT 1 on PC but ultimately I had to play this with a controller and there were crash bugs every so often, as well as issues with nvidia graphics card drivers.

So, I was super happy to learn there is a sequel! Awesome! Although a bit samey, it was fun.

Now, I own a switch and a pc, and given I need to play with a bad I'm leaning towards getting the switch version:

Pros
1. More stable (I hope)
2. Controller built in
3. Portable
4. Same game
5. Looks like its 50 euros, whilst the PC price is hilariously extortionate

Cons
1. Graphics will be a lot worse

So it looks like the switch version is the way to go? Does anyone know of a comparative review between these two versions?

ps. shame they don't sell a license so you can play both versions

I guess we are all different, I had to use an xbox controller as I found it unplayable with keyboard and mouse! The controls were a core driver for me getting the switch version in the end.

Here's what I'm wanting to ask: if you sync your switch joy-cons with your pc, do you play with the same buttons you would on the switch version itself? I kinda want the pc version because I know mods could lend a lot of customization and bonus levels and the like later down the line, but I have the feeling that the keyboard and mouse controls would feel a bit clunky to me compared to the joy-cons...

I am gonna throw this out there if you haven't already bought the game.. I originally preordered for the switch picked it up and returned it the next day. It seemed rushed and looked as if they just ported the game without any thought. Before i took the game back I docked it to see what it would look like on the dock.. and it was not pretty. It honestly looked like they had just formatted the game to match screen resolution by stretching. Also in the very opening cutscene there is an FPS drop for like almost no reason... I can only imagine what it could be later on on the game...


I would stay clear of the switch version and go for PC.

@TakaCheroki, I think the controller is supported for pc via bluetooth but I think the control scheme won't match. To be honest, the control scheme has about fifteen million options iirc, its more about the analogue placement. I think the pro controller will be better than the joy-cons.

You really should use a controller for this, the keyboard and mouse setup sucks and i much prefer K+M

@NessaNugget, I have the switch version now but haven't actually played it yet. I did watch the intro cutscene in portable and didn't get a framerate drop though. I wanted to make sure the game wasn't in spanish but japanese and english. it turns out that the case is wrong so I guess they didn't put much effort into it. Were you docked? EU edition? Sounds weird that I wouldn't get the same frame drop in portable.

I'd opt for the PC version, th PS4 version of AOT1 had some slowdowns. I've only had a total of two slowdown on my 1050Ti and that's a weak card. I'm even able to stream to Steam Link with no issues.

Every third party Switch game I've bought has had terrible fidelity compared to PC or PS4. The Nintenod exclusives, however, have played beautifully.

Hi, I am happy with it. Plays fine, the only issue is the subs being tiny on the screen.

If I were sat down and had a pc and switch side by side, I would buy the pc version for sure.
