Noob (Kinda) Tips?
I'm not as confident since this game is more difficult than the first. I don't really understand this new detection system, nor how I am supposed to do this evade and hook dive?

Is it worth using mouse and keyboard?

I did play the first and even though I never played or had any desire to play musou type omega force games I had a hell of a lot of fun with Wings of Freedom.

Any tips for this new combat system?

This game reminds me of Spiderman 2 in how you've got a lot more control over the movement of your character, but that also means it requires more skill than before and I'm having a little difficulty adjusting.

So yea any tips that you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated!

Just start going for it is all I could say. I've been using the mouse and keyboard for about 12 hours now and I don't have any glaring issues, so it shouldn't be much of a problem.
I wouldn't suggest constantly going for hook dives, however, as the timing, for me at least, is really inconsistent and I only manage to pull it off at random intervals. Just rush the body parts and try to dodge as much as you can, good luck!

hook drive i find useless to try and make it happen, if it happens just go for it because it’s free easy 10k+ dmg.

mouse and keyboard are actually fully supported in this game, i can only suggest trying it out and see if you like it. (i personally think controller is just too bulky)

it isn’t as fast paced as the old one. your OC does a stupid backflip before you hook which i find stupid. (no, characters such as levi and eren do not have the backflip) you have to reposition yourself after an attack because you don’t go flying past it after you do. so just attack, jump backwards away from the titan and gas boost then hook and go back to the titan. (this is just my play style, if you don’t like it or it’s too fast you don’t need to use it)

so the biggest issue im having is trying to get altitude with my odm. How can you consistently do that? Is it by latching onto roofs?

for me i hook alot on bosses but almost never on normal mobs.

as for keeping in the air? anchor range is how far away u can start combat latch. shift on pc. i like it around 90. but one of the first sets u can get the spirit can go up to 170 range. thats farther than sneak attack at around 150. u will want to look at the info in ur tutorial tab aka tips and tricks on the journal or player tab *forgot*. i use alot of mid air bursts to stay up. also while u can breakk a wire easily tied to a titan, u CAN use titans for anchor points with normal travel ;). and of course when anchored to a titan *focus* u can have full control and flight right up into the air to come down on their necks if u wish.
