But they had to casualize the game for plebs and ruin it.
Who would see that slo-mo thing and say that it's good for gameplay.
I don't really know how you got the game was "casualized" from that... or how anyone sensible could get to your hypothesis like that. Anyway, if anything, the slow motion cinamatic crap makes the game harder because it reduces the amount of time you have to actually make use of whatever cool thing you did that prompted the effect. It starts getting really annoying. Otherwise, controls are a vast improvement over the first game. Titan AI is vastly improved, and the new Bizarre Titan is a difficult little piece of ____.
I'd say overall the game is harder than the first one, by far (there's less ways to cheese game mechanics, for one). Inferno gets cheap with the Bizarre Titans that instantly one-shot NPCs and cause game overs, though. I don't remember if that was a thing in the first game. But that's my major complaint, I shouldn't have to restart from checkpoint twelve times because Armin keeps getting knee kicked.
The controls were more manual and freestyle in the first one.
For me this one is much easier than the first control wise.
The only different thing is that the AI has more resources here to make it more difficult for some people, like it happens to u it seems.
First game wasn't hard, even Armin could be devastating with the highest ranked party members. Main reason: you could farm item drops on any difficulty--- which is what everyone did. Second reason... what was really difficult in the first game except for the very last few survey missions?
As for the more manual and freestyle controls on the first game, that's more preference than actually being some incredible feat of skill.
Edit: I just realized you made this thread, so I don't even know what we're arguing about. Miscommunication, I'm assuming. I do think Inferno is way more difficult than TAM, tho!
Lol maybe you aren't playing the game because there's an obvious slow down when you hook into a titan, and another one when u kill it. If u can't see it then u have sight problems and maybe you should check with a doctor.
Don't know why u have to be withe knighting this game or undermining my opinion.
I never said 1 was harder, read bro. I said it had better controls, that's subjective yes, but i think it's pretty obvious.
So maybe instead of being a d-ouche open the game and see for yourself what i'm talking about.
And i created the topic so maybe i know what everyone else is talking about?
The slowdown is during and after, not before. So has no effect on your personal timing.
My initial response was specifically to your "But they had to casualize the game for plebs and ruin it." remark. I don't really see anything in this game that was "casualized", and that word used by gamers is up there with "toxic" in how much it's overused by the community at large.
You like the first game more, I like this one more. There, that's all there is to it.
Good points, though this is still something I personally feel should be an option in the game, it's a feature that is apparently disabled for online play, so why not have the option to turn it off for single-player? Personally I hate the slowdowns because it feels like they waste a second or so every damn time they happen, and especially so after killing titans as I usually want to be already dashing away to my next target but I'm forced to stick around for a second or so because of the damn slowdown!
And there is also the slowdown when you re-tether to an enemy after the tether breaks or you've attacked, it's not much but it is still really damn annoying, burning quite a few seconds when you put it all together and generally just being an annoyance that doesn't add any dramatic flair when it happens every. Damn. Time.
Also, this slowdown especially feels like a timewaster when you're doing timed objectives/missions or trying to squeeze in as many attacks as you can on a stamina-depleted abnormal/bizzarre as both the stamina meter and the in-game timer don't seem to slow down in the slightest when this slow-motion crap happens, basically meaning that you're wasting what easily adds up to 10+ seconds through a fight.
In short, it wastes time, is something that clearly can be disabled as it is not in the multiplayer, and should have been an option from the very start that is separate from difficulty.
Also, keeping momenting when doing 'cutscene attacks' triggered seemingly by random would be nice instead of losing all momentum and speed in doing so.
You are always changing your point to have the upper hand.
You said "The slow motion people are talking about is the effect after you sever a limb/kill a titan/etc" and now "The slowdown is during and after, not before."
So, make up your mind? and what the hell does it matters? the effect is there.
When did i said it had effects on timing?, you really love to put words in other people mouths.
What i said was that it takes out flow and dynamism from the game, making the first one much more fast paced.
For me it's more casual than 1 as it has dumbed down controls, if it didn't have better titans it would be nothing compared to it.
Maybe you felt i was insulting you because you are a casual, and that's why you can't see the first one had better ODM, if so i'm sorry.
As you said you like this more and i like the other, so gtfo.
Used to it or not though I just wish there was an option to turn it off because it does get really annoying on some points. Actually, most points.
Also. "Casaulize this game for plebs?" I hope no one actually said that because this isn't a dark souls game. This game is massive fanservice for all I care and I'm loving it lol. I really hope someone isn't mixing this game with dark souls.
I don't see the terminology casual as and insult, as you and the previous guy clearly think it is, i see it as a way to make a game more accesible for all people by making it more simple and easy.
Plebs on the other hand it's derogatory and maybe i shouldn't had wrote that, i didn't think people would get so sensitive about it kappa.
Youre either constantly playing the online only or youre intentionally ignoring it but there is absolutely a bit of slow motion whenever you hook onto a titan part. Your character does a little back flip. And it absolutely affects your timing. Unless you always use gas, the slow motion often continues into your attack, meaning if you try to repeatedly hook and kill many titans in close range in succession, you're pretty much screwed.
Its kind of what this whole thread is about if youd go back and read the original comment. If you honestly cant tell then its obviously you with the sight/feedback problem and need to either play the game again or leave this thread dude.
