Cant name my character

So a friend just bought me the game for PC (bless their souls!) but I seem to be having an issue with the character editor.

The process of choosing apperance works just fine, but when i go to name my character nothing happens.
i can choose the name slot and it does the little ding and the line shows up. But when i go to type a name nothing happens.
Am i being dumb?
Ive tried restarting and recreating a new character, trying both presets and costum made.

I play with a keyboard and mouse.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

press enter instead of space or ctrl.. for the controler, i press start (instead of O) so it doesn't back out.. and Enter might be the alternative

huh.. i'm doing the same thing you're doing on keyboard and it works fine for me.

"esc" to finalize, enter/click works when choosing a name slot.
and when the line apears, i could type anything just fine..

Well i tried some more, even reinstalling but still no result.

I honestly have no idea what is wrong
I guess i'll have to wait a little and try agian at another date

I fixed my problem strangely by truning all my graphic settings to low when i started the game.
i could turn them up after and it ran just fine
