So sick of shutdowns...
I am so sick of this game at this point, shutting down randomly. Why haven't they fixed this? My equipment is more then enough to handle this game on high settings, yet even on the lowest settings there seems to still be random shutdowns and freezing up. The new dlc mission, next to the one before the question mission, I had 50 titans down and was about to finish, go to do a sneak attack, and BAM! Of course it shuts down. I am so sick of this being a problem that every mission I do now, I have to make sure I haven't played more then 20 minutes before doing it or I risk losing progress. Seriously?

Welcome to the modern-day development process for just about everything. It's based on one foundation:

"The product doesn't need to work, nor be finished, the consumer just needs to buy it. Whenever the missing content is finished we'll pretend it's DLC and charge more money for it"

Are you sure that's not a problem with your PC? Maybe a sucky Anti-Virus or so? Because i'm about 80% done with the game and haven't had a single crash at all. This game runs fascinatingly stable for me.

Ah, I'm not sure anymore. Seems like it might have something to do with my PC, although like I said, I know I have more than enough to run it pretty good, but you might be right.

Same problem as you. Win10 Pro, 7700K, and 1080ti. Cant get past the first couple of missions as my framerate will slowly degrade to under 20FPS and/or my PC will randomly turn off. Nothing in the event logs, no indication what the issue is at all.

Wow, that's not like me. I'm only using windows 8.1, hate 10. Anywho, I have no problem with framerate or anything slowly degrading or turning off. Maybe "shutdowns" was harsh in words, but I meant game. No mine works perfectly fine but then POOF... will just freeze and the game will shut down.

I had this problem, too. What I ended up doing was going to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\AoT2, then setting "AOT2_EU.exe" and "Launcher.exe" to Windows 7 compatibility mode. Just right click the files, select "properties", click the "Compatibility" tab, check the "Run this program in compatibility mode" box, then set it to Windows 7. It wouldn't hurt to also check the "Run this program as an administrator", either. Doing that should fix the problem for you, hopefully.

Also, if you're running an SLI setup I found a stable profile setting that should give you decent scaling. Just create a profile for the game in either Nvidia control panel, or in Nvidia Inspector and use these settings

SLI compatibility bits (DX10 + DX11) -----> 0x088000F5

NVIDIA predefined number of GPUs to use on SLI rendering mode on DX10-----> 0x00000004

NVIDIA predefined SLI mode on DX10-----> 0x00000002

That sounds like an issue the first game had. Open Nvidia Control Panel, go to "Manage 3D settings", click the Program settings tab, open the AOT2 profile (you may have to make one) there should be an option to choose which GPU to render with. If it's set to use an "integrated gpu" that's probably why your getting the FPS drops. Just switch it so it's using your 1080ti. Only other option, so, pretty easy to fix. If it still persists, then something is either defective, or the PC Master Race gods hate you lol

Appreciate the response. Spent a couple hours on this again tonight. I trhink I got the PC shutting off fixed by clean installing drivers. However, Theres no options in NVCP for selecting the gpu. I think I have seen it before but maybe it is not even a thing anymore?

Regardless, even after other various potential "fixes" I get about 10-15 minutes into a game then my framrates degrade to crap. Funny thing is MSI afterburner OSD shows the GPU usage drop from the 90s down to 40-50% but if I switch to Windows task manager, windows is saying the GPU is using the 90+percent as it should.

Whatever, between this, Far Cry 5 being stuck in night time, and Wolfenstein 2 DLC being unplayable due to crash dump errors, I wonder why I spend so much money on PC gaming......

Thanks again friend.
