Koei, if I want to see a badly animated 3d scene from a famous manga, I would watch Berserk, not play your story modes. You guys f*cked this up. Im sorry what? with the exception of wanting to self insert (lol why?) and the really boring every day life sequences where you answer dumb questions all the CaC story did was given us a worse story of s1 and s2. The story wasnt all that different at all with the exception of seeing it through a mute and nameless characters eyes.

Like really think back to the game, it had all the same set pieces but they were made worse because we had to play a CaC. I was so excited to play out the Bert Reiner wall scene i couldnt wait, an epic fight against the C titan on the wall then you'd switch to eren for the duel at the bottom. instead we got to just hang around and watch the characters. Remember in AOT 1 when we played as eren and defended the building as the A titan? then remember the version of AOT2 when instead we just watched eren kill everything. Oh man that scene where ymir transforms to save her friends and its this really cool moment cant wait to play that OH WAIT you dont you just watch Ymir transform and watch her kill the titans.

like can you at least be honest with yourself here. the AOT2 story was exactly the same as the manga and anime but instead of taking part in the story we watched the characters do it. If you miss self inserting and RPing and wanting dating mechanics whatever fine but lets be real here in terms of the story the CaC just made everything worse.

like what would you want in s3? Remember that really dramatic scene where levi promised Erwin and fights off that onslaught of titans? that was super cool but with a CaC wed just be watching levi do it. I'd rather play the story than watch it take place from a emotionless stiff and mute character that has zero purpose in the entire story. Sure keep it for freeplay i see no issue with that but in story mode they made every hype moment into a boring one.

Im so happy they took the feedback. If this was just a CaC expac or god help us they made a contrived reason to make the character be a shifter i wouldnt have bought that. AOT2 did so many amazing things but it was all brought down so hard thanks to the CaC.

The saddest thing about AOT2 was them taking the time to make every character playable and then making us play a empty doll for like 90% of the time (i think im like the only guy who plays another mode)

Maybe man, But I was most invested to build relationship with the other characters from the anime than play the manga again
And when I watch Ymir transform into a titan I was so hype to see my character put his last strength to defend the our compagnon, than just play Ymir who have only three move

Mute and nameless? Funny, I seem to remember expressing my opinions on matters (unvoiced) via text and I also remember giving myself a name.

Watching events from the sidelines? No no no. Yes, the CaC isn't a Titan shifter, but that hardly means they didn't give their own contributions and earn their own accolades as an Elite & reliable Soldier.

You're trying so hard to denigrate the CaC experience as mediocre but here is the thing... At least the CaC was mine. That was my own original insert into the universe where I was apart of the action and not just borrowing somebody elses vehicle. Because that's basically what you do when you play as Eren, ymir, Historia, Misaka, ect you're just borrowing somebody elses used car and retracing thoroughly treaded road to tour somebody elses established achievements. Real original. Real entertaining. Personally, I prefer to tread my own road, in my own vehicle, establishing my own landmarks, making my own mark on history instead of oooing & auuuing in the backseat at somebody elses.

Arnt you doing the same as a CaC? with the exception of a few scenes you are on that same treaded road that is the anime and manga and watching the same scenes play out and for the most part your just muscle helping out the other characters. Can you tell me how its really that much diff?

As for the everyday life yeah your right you do contribute you leave your mark you chat with people it was fun for a while but once i saw the repeated questions and when i realized you only raise friendship by telling them exactly what they want to hear it got got boring.

If it were up to me i'd allow the CaC playable in the story missions and if you selected them the story character you'd normally play would be an NPC and roughly do the same thing. I still think i'd scrap the everyday life for something else though.

considering it looks like we get our character for the extra modes, maybe at the end of the story, there might be a look at the OC surviving?

He survived u can see it at the end of the credits, the only plot twist I see it's that he make a deus ex machina return against the armored for a duel against the monster who killed his parents before Hange arrives and then we follow the anime, But I am very disapointed if he don't make a comeback at any moment iin the story mode

ya i know we see him place his weapon, but who says he survived? he could of been dying, or cought by a titan afterwards

Don't have the game of course as I am waiting for Final Battle to get it full price, but the DLC came out today in Japan so maybe there is info already out about the DLC and the CaC. In any case, I do think the CaC adds to the game regardless because it offers a different POV and a different way to experience these events that sets it in line with the anime and manga while also proving its own worth.

sadly the custom created character wont appear in the new story of season 3 cause they were too lazy to do it and they were rushing to get this out before season 3 ends

nevertheless, he survives and u can play ur chara in the territory recovery mode

Idk it does mean that I don't need to grind to get a decent PC to take on the dlc. Hopefully I can fly right in on the glorious anti-personnel odm.

Seriously the anti-personnel odm is such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool design and excellent evolution of the concept.
