level-up crews, fully equip them and you may freeze them to free crew slots.
In many other (collectible) game like World of Warships you have to play for crew/ships slots although occasionally you'll get some for a discount price or even free.

Still it's a collectible card game at it's core and they want you to pay for slots? This is not normal, this should not be normal.

Also leveling crew is easier said than done because you need more and more energy to send them on away mission.

I downloaded this game and am playing it now but I will not spend a dime on it... I've been down that road before... I'll play this until I reach a point where I cannot progress any further without spending a ton of cash and then I'll simply uninstall it...In the meantime I'll just play and have some fun with it... If it isn't fun then don't bother with it..

You won't get very far without paying. As early as episode 2 or 3 the starter ship and crew will be obsolete and you'll need to replace them.

There are people who managed to get lucky. I myself ended up getting 4 star ship from the Dabo wheel. Cant remember what one, I want to say the Intrepid, but im honestly not 100%

However, when I tried this on bluestacks, I was jammed exactly where you said, at around episode 2-3 with no way to get upgrades.

I mean it is outrageously expensive stuff. Frankly id actually pay a small monthly subscription to unlock all the basic features and have everyone else playing on the same level, but their business model is free to play with psychological manipulation to encourage spending, and Id bet psychological manipulation of ftp/mobile p2w games is more profitable than having a $5 sub fee each month, otherwise theyd do it that way.

Well I can advise you to change your statement since they released a paid game for 5 quid a month on Apple with no micros. Check Star Trek Legends.

I have been playing Timelines for a few years now. The way you get characters is not to buy them directly (although now you can get new characters that you want periodically by the new Crew Retrieval method- I do this on the regular now.)
Once you have one you use the honor points from characters you didn't need to upgrade them. It is slow but no that expensive... sometimes you pay 9.99 for a character when they offer it on sale... I never try to buy crew that way.

no, don't waste honor, collect it until they have a honor sale. I just use honor in emergencies if I need to free crew space.

And here we are. Spending hard earn or where ever you get your money from. Wasting it. Casino games is called. The mistake is that people buy it thats why the keep going up. And transaction nonsense is the norm you guys the payers accept it. So dont complaine whats your fault any way.
