cant start the game! set display mode fail?

I fixed it running the game's executable.
You can go to your library, right click the game, 'local files' tab, 'see local files folder' and run MR.exe.

Make sure you have Direct Play installed. Then, I also had to set compatibility mode to Windows XP service pack 3.

This didn't work for me as well tried it all, Direct Play installed, compatibility mode to Windows XP service pack 3, run through executable still say's "set display mode failed" please help I really want to play this game.

The above is what worked for me and my wife. All I can suggest from here is try different compatibility modes. Also, if you have anything overclocked try resetting to defaults. I've had a few games crash on me due to overclocks.

Yes sorry windows 10, I will try outher compatibility modes but windows did slect Windows XP service pack 3 as the best when I trubled shooted, so I dont think that will be it, I don't run anything on overclock so it cant be that eyther, thank you for your help.

Ya, I had that problem befor and set the Mathematica.exe to none do I need to do it again?

Ok so adding a profile in RTSS which points to Mathematica.exe and set the detection level to "None" didn't work because, and i feal silly admiting to this, all i had to do was set it to rescale and run as admin sorry for waisting your time and ryuu, you have actualy helped me befor so thank you again.
