Casus Belli ¿How it works?
Greetings:

¿How the casus belli mechanic works?

Im playing with México and now its 1922. Im neutral, neither in the Entente or Centrals Powers sphere of influence...

So far... I have a 100% Casus Belli against Japan, 95% against the United States and 40% against Haití... but, I really dont do anything to them and those countries do nothing to me...

¿Somebody knows how this works?

When a country goes to war without reason you get warpoints on em. If they are in your sphere, you dont get these warpoints. If you condem their actions, you get more warpoints etc

Having a large number of unit production fabs will also result in everyone getting war justification against them.

if they have units in the territory of people you are fighting and you fight those units you will get cb from that too
spies too I think

Generally speaking you recieve CB against nations based on THIER actions.. there is not much you can do to build CB... condemning their actions may increase the CB gained but it still requires them to do something that would give CB in the first place. It's of course Vice versa... other nations build CB against you based on your actions. So generally speaking if you want to war someone do so when you have the chance because there is no guaruntee outside of scripted events that you may build CB against them again.

The AI is very finicky about declaring war.. so giving another country 100% CB is not likely to result in them declaring war..of course various settings can improve the chances but it's not something you can rely on to get a war started.

Thank you for all your answers.

By the way ¿What is the ideal percentage of casus belli to declare war withouth upsetting to much the international community?

Well, I mean ideally you'd want over 90%, but that's not always easy to get. As Fistalis was saying, sometimes it's better to declare war on them while you can because you don't know if you'll get a better chance or not. If you get it at 40%, it's not great, but maybe it's better than nothing for your situation. Or maybe they're moving a lot of units around on your border and you get the feeling they're going to continue being antagonistic, then sit tight and wait for it to go higher. There's no guarentee it will, so all you can do is choose to strike when you feel it's as high as it's going to get within the timeframe you're wanting to attack.

Increase your casus belli by supporting the opposition to the regime in your diplomacy tab.

This can get you up to 70% CB so it's not perfect but you should be able to repair your reputation if you take your time between wars.

Great... if you fund insurgency you have the same effect or what are the effects of funding that?

Funding insurgency lowers military approval making it easier to make their units surrender to you
