Was there ever a physical, boxed release for this game?

I noticed the dated release date, which was before Steam, but I've never, ever seen this game in stores or anything. When I sought out PC games to buy at 5-6 years old, I never remember seeing this game, or even hearing of it, until I got Steam a couple years later.

Was there ever a physical release for this game? It would be cool to scout out a copy if there is.

I don't think so. It wasn't nearly as big as Half-Life, or The Orange Box, or even Portal 2.

It was a downloadable mod. There was never a physical release.

It came with Half Life update 1.1.1.0 I believe as a gift. Free and you downloaded it for free

Not quite but it was packaged on disc for the CS release. How I got hooked.

It does come with Half-Life IF you manage to find a copy of Half-Life with a working CD key and regester it to your steam account.

Yea, but never a standalone. You also got DMC with it, making retail the best.

i don't think there was any physical release, but it was included in the retail release of cs 1.0 and in a patch for won half life
