What are the benefits of having more pro soviet and Comecon countries?

The US resorts to pumping raw resources out of third world countries when it starts to fall behind. If these countries are pro-soviet, the US cannot use them as a source of funding.

The more pro-soviet countries there are, the more the USSR earns from exports, and the less the United States. The economic bonuses from Comecon countries is much higher than that of the rest of the third world.

Adding countries to the Comecon will also detract from US prestige and decrease trust in NATO.
