They can take me down in 3-4 hits but I can take chunks out of them.
Recipes are key. They unlock new armour and weapons (and new areas too)
Money is a pain early on. I've just unlocked Auto-Crafting... I'll usually craft loads of Solider Swords (most end up King/Grandmaster/Legend quality) and make money that way. Copper Ingots are the usual lacking materials but if you check your mats pile, craft lots of what you can and just sell it.
Loot/Craft/Sell rinse repeat. And check Timed quests, they give fair amounts of gold for the materials.
You have 10k gold upgrade after 3 hours? HOW? I am 4.5h and the max gold I ever had was like 3000. Currently I always am between 0 and 900 or so. What are you crafting that makes a profit? I did mostly stone swords since that seemed like the best ROI but I dunno, nothing is really making me any money. only have access to very low level stuff.. I did literally every single sub quest that is possible for me with the ressources I have access to.
this makes me almost no money. just for example 1 loop of this I start at 1k gold. I go looting until I'm nearly broke, then craft and sell and then have like 1100 gold left. My adventurers take too much money for adventures and crafting, there is almost no profit. It feels wrong.
Level your character's stats! Don't just equip the best gear, otherwise you'll end up with characters with a ton of STR and VIT and no HP and DEX. Do not just pump STR/VIT and try to one shot everything: Hard and Insane maps have enemies that you can't one shot, so you have to count on taking at least one hit back.
Making profit is just a case of finding something you can craft easily for low material costs. So if Sales Amount Of Item is more than Wage Cost of Adventure + Wage Cost of Crafting Materials + Wage Cost of Crafting Item, then you make a profit. You will never ever make a decent profit off one item: you need to craft large amounts. Go do some math, and remember that the wages increase as the character gets better. It's not always a good idea to have your best character make your items you intend to sell.
Check your main, sub and side quest lists for easy to do ones every now and then for cool recipes.
I am currently in post game, doing the Promised Land on Hard. Game gets a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ harder later.
