similar games to battle for wesnoth?

im enjoying the game a lot! but i want to play turn based games with my brother, he wont play the game cos of the graphics lol, its too slow for him apparently...
any other games similar to wesnoths gameplay but with better graphics and pvp?
right now im looking at wargroove....

On steam, I'd suggest Warlock, Endless Legend, and Age of Wonders 3. And Might and Magic Heroes 7 but hotseat mode only (online multiplayer is a mixed bag on performance).
