Fun and whimsical for half an hour, then not so much fun. At time of writing, there are 10 reviews, all positive. Only 5 of them have total played times more than one hour, and only 3 have played more than 2 hours. The idea is appealing, but it's not 'holding' people.

Yes, the partying skellies are fun. But your opponents are also janking about as well. Yes, it's a whimsical game, but it feels wrong for your opponents to also be 'partying'. Controls are a bit janky, too.

Ultimately it's a 'no' from me. Cute idea, but the execution isn't there.

Cute character-art doesn't really fit with the simple spastics of the character models, perhaps a more idle-bouncy state should be added? The levels are quite rough, and some art elements, mainly effects, break from the pixely aesthetic.

Review:
SDP is a funny game in a pretty voxel wrapping with gorgeous lighting and easy to use controls.

Formatted with a mission select system, you can play through a good number of procedurally generated dungeons as a foxy lady, raising the dead, telling them to pick up items, and using magic to find enemies and telepathy to progress many of the puzzles.

There is one twist that I love about this game that makes it really stand out. It uses the medium of dance to add lots of humour. Everyone is dancing in a way that I can only compare to ragdoll-like physics, swinging swords and casting spells. The music is thankfully not something that drives me insane after a lot of repetition.

The game has great voice acting, funny lines, and just a daft feel to it that manages to not be at all frustrating or feel unfair in combat.

If you want something to sink into for a good few hours at least, then I highly recommend giving this a go.

So I made the review sound very cruel at first but after cooling off I retract many awful things I said that sounded personal, I do however still hold my points and wont change them.

It looks cute...I instantly wishlisted this the moment I saw screenshots because it just looked beautiful I didn't even look at a gameplay video but even if I did it wouldn't have explained what happens in the game because you wont be the one playing.

So let me first explain this game

You're some sort of a witch girl that had cat ears because I assume the devs wanted to add that extra anime cat-girl effect, you have the ability to resurrect skeletons, they'll fight for you and collect equipment on their own and they seemed intelligent and capable at first but eventually I realized they're not

I'll just list whats bad.

1 - this is a physics based game right ? Yeah you'll get stuck opening doors ..imagine dying from opening a door because the door touched you and it dealt damage you'll also get super frustrated trying to go up stairs because with the I suppose ragdoll system in this game you'll get stuck sometimes and it becomes a chore just going up stairs.

2 - The game's main feature is to raise skeletons of all dead corpses and enemies you kill ...which ends up being a hassle because they block your path...they're annoying blocking me everywhere I go I reached the point where I gave up on raising more than 2 since very early in the game I got a hammer and a jump and smash ability that 1 hits enemies so I basically had no more need for skeletons until the "Event fights" but everywhere else I stopped summoning them because they're so annoying when they block me...yeah you can right click to order them to go away but they'll comeback and block you again anyway.

3 - all levels look exactly the same, literally copy pasted from each other, same objects same visuals same everything there's no difference other than the paths ...every time you start a new level you'll say " hey isnt this the one I just finished?" because the start is all the same

4 - I heard voice acting and was excited ! been a while I didn't play an indie game with voice acting ...but I guess this game's voice style isn't for me, the main character and all the other female characters have the most high pitched sound that made me skip all dialogues because it really hurt my ears, if you like that type of voice and maybe too into anime I guess you'd like it.

5 - Music is fine if you like that type of rave music if you don't then you'll probably not like it as much, and at first the music is all I was able to hear and was barely able to hear sound effects of attacks and what not.

6 - all characters keep walking in a "ragdoll" broken type of way which is what the game intended to do as a fun way but it ends up making the combat very stale ...melee enemies will hit you even if they're not close to you, the hitbox isn't accurate at all and you can't predict their attacks so all you gotta do is stay as far away from them as you can, which seems to work.

7 - since like I said all levels looks the same the lack of a game map made it very unnecessarily hard to find the end of each level ..I just started running through all enemies because there really is NO point in killing them and the level design isn't great so 9 out of 10 paths are useless to go through, you'll find doors that says "Someone seemed to misplace the key to this door " So you'll think there's a key for it ...nope..there isn't, you'll just rush until you find some character with a question mark and say " Oh thats where I should go " ...there really are no pointers or anything and usually there don't have to be any but with a game that has really no meaning in both enemies and level design there really should be a map ...which would'v made me less frustrated playing this if it just pointed me to where I should go I might have actually finished the game before uninstalling it.

8 - I actually had to reduce the graphics because at full the game has WAY too many post-processing qualities that increases the shadows and makes the game way too dark ....I had to remove all of that to actually be able to get a good look at the surroundings ...also the game ran at a 100+fps ...overheated my poor old laptop, there's no way to cap it no vsync options

9 - for some reason when I tried to play this game with a controller the left stick is to move and right stick is to control the mouse cursor ....it says full controller support but this game was clearly designed for Kb+mouse, which is fine by me but I think they could have made the controller work better but whatever I guess any game with a mouse cursor is supposed to be played with a mouse and keyboard.


I get it ...they tried to make this a comedy game but the dialogues were not perfect, they're witty and cliche at best and the story isn't all that.


Apologies to the developer, I usually try to sleep before writing a review because I want to avoid to include my anger in them, I am usually brutally honest and I have some anger issues and blood pressure problems although sadly im just 25.

This game is a inspired by Pikmin and Overlord. The game feels a bit clumsy but is very enjoyable! Don't feel afraid to change to new hats you'll find, going from 9 to 4 minions only isn't so bad when they get more health! I didn't want to change to lesser minions but wasn't able to progress further without, and tbh it was a good thing, the game was easier with less but better minions. The story is thin but it has a lot of funny jokes. Almost all of the achievements are story related and aren't missable. You also have achievements for completing all the optional quests. The only achievement that might be unable is to turn Betty into a skeleton, for this you have to complete the story without having completed all the optional missions. One warning, don't try to play this game with a gamepad, it doesn't work so well.

This game was my completed game number 400 on TSA. I choose this game to be the milestone because it is amazing!

within seconds of raising my first skeletons, They quickly found themselves maracas, trumpets and a lute. My undead mariachi band does not know fear.

Great game. Love the Style, the comedy and the story. Id say its a buy at full price however there are some point where your Skelepals decide to mosh pit you and drive you into fire... or jump off and see what the green mist smells like (death pits have green mist). These moments will lead to some frustration, mainly when you have basically cleared the dungeon and you die meaning you have to restart the level. These points besides it is a fun game :D

A very addicting cutey spooky dungeon crawler. Floppy Skele dancing is hilarious, Necromancy has never been so fun! Great witty dialogue brilliantly voice acted. Controls take some getting used to, but it doesn't get in the way of gameplay too much. PARTY!

Spoopy doot doot the game.

It's super fun and the main character is a complete ditz which is adorable.

It can be a little clunky to start with but once you get used to it it's part of the charm and definitely worth the price.

Would be awesome to play during a halloween party ahahaha
