DOSBox crashes and freezes PC [Windows 10]

DOSBox Version 0.74 is several years old, so it's no suprise, that it doesn't work flawlessly on Windows 10.

I have version 1703 and so, when starting the game DOSbox opens as normal but freezes the whole PC. After several trail and error attempts to locate the problem, I found out, that it was DOSBox itself, not the build packed with the game. Because even the official website version 0.74 reproduces the same issue after installing and launching.
