The Coin Game
Still no updates?
Why does this game take like 7 months to get one update? It's a pretty low scale project

The reason is because this Dev is a one man band. Major updates come out about once a year and normally around Christmas time. The last update was in Dec., 2022. That's a little over a month. If you think this is a low scale project I encourage you to try different aspects of the game. Find the loot boxes, mow Barry's lawn. Seriously, go ride the bumper cars. Hit another car hard enough and prizes come shooting right out of their exhaust pipe!

While I 100% agree the wait is normal I think the last update was in 2021. Because the latest update was a BETA one which has closed now I believe? So not a true update. But still 100% feels normal since it's a one man show. I adore this game and am so glad with the progress pics.

Honestly, as someone who is big on arcades and arcade simulators, it's amazing there's not only so much content but that it keeps being updated and expanded year on year. I've seen professional games with full studios behind them that barely give an ounce of this much content and then call it quits.

We... literally just had a Beta for the latest expansion. Are you new here, or...?

Really Nexuscitadel? If I had said this I would have been crucified for not welcoming new peeps. All in all there was no update. A new building with all of the same stuff from every arcade around the island does not an update make. In fact, I think the new beta is not as much fun. How many times can you walk around a mall that basically takes away from the rest of the gaming opportunities?

...uh... you okay? You seem kind of wound up. I was just pointing out, the game isn't dead. And I was being serious about if they were new or not, since the Beta dropping was fairly big news for the community. Okay, yeah, the new games weren't in, but that's not the same as game = dead. It was a weird comment, because if they were new and that's why they didn't know, it feels weird for them to just declare the game dead. If they're not new, I'm confused as to why they'd say that since- as you pointed out in this very thread -full updates take around a year or more to come out since this is a solo-dev project.

I have to agree with You. The last time we got a new machine in the game was in 2020 and now its 2023. In the 2021 update we only got an upscaled versions of Megadrop and reskinned claw machines, the shooting gallery and the the boat game. in the 2022 update we only got the beta of the Mall with no new machines. So in the last 2 years we only got 2 new playable Machines.
And yes I know its a one man project by Kevin.
And I think it was better when he released an update when a new machine was made.

I'm confused. Do you feel these two posts from me are somehow contradictory? Also, given the latter was from the dedicated pinned thread about what we'd like to see in future, I'm again puzzled.

I would like to know if the game is being worked on.

Yes. This is Dev's passion project and continues to work on it alone. The most recent large update was at Christmas. It's a new beta that includes a mall with an arcade, food court and stores. There are lots of small updates regularly but most fail to notice.
Actually we notice and we know all those details you mentioned. If the dev wants to show up once a year then atleast let us know the plans / roadmap.

By the way, i see and speak to many other solo devs and they manage to keep their fans on the same page and excited. But i'm not comparing as some people aren't social or maybe aren't sharp on marketing.

In any case, I don't think we asked for much and the reason we are asking is because we like the game or take that a step further and encouraging them to keep at it. Hearing from them every now and then would be great even if they are still working on it.

What I'd like to see:
1. World collectables. Things hidden around the map to find, to encourage more exploration of the island.
2. Cards. Collectable cards, ideally with boosters sold at the general store or traded as ticket prizes, with a checklist for the ones you find in your menu. Doesn't need a game attached, collecting the cards (especially if there's rare chase ones you can only get from specific location) is its own reward.
3. More Jackpot-locked prizes. Nothing feels more awesome than the jackpots on Popcorn Pete and Dunko, not just because card-pushers are the best kind of coin pusher (search your feelings, you know it to be true) but because the plushies you get literally cannot be obtained otherwise. Not saying every game needs them; in fact, more than 1-2 per location would be overkill. But man, those 1-2 would be glorious hunts.
4. A Baseball Pro-style game where the player has to time and power the swing of a bat to try and score runs. Could also double-up with #2, since the first game of this type I ever played (back in the 90s) gave baseball cards for every three runs in place of tickets.
5. A Haunted House ride. Something of a throwback to both carnivals and the boardwalk of my college town, getting a sit-down ride through some jumpscare spooks of a mild nature can be a real blast.
6. A stop-the-wheel-inflate-the-balloon game (Explosive is a good modern example). No one ever won this in my age group, but everyone tried those games where you'd stop the spinning wheel, get a few tickets, but more importantly would slightly inflate a massive balloon. The goal was to pop it for the jackpot, or get insanely lucky and have it land on the auto-pop slice of the wheel that would inflate it till it burst and you got a ton of tickets.
7. Air hockey. A classic of any arcade, new or old. And the new ones come with fun crazy extras, like the Pac-Man machine's multi-puck mode, or ones with 3-4 players.
8. Not-quite-claw machines. The kind where you need to drop balls into a pan with a few dozen divots but need to fill two marked ones to get a prize, or where you need to push/pull an already placed prize so it falls into the hole. Bonus points for the latter if the prize is edible and maybe unique (can't buy from vendors) but the player might spend 2x or more trying to 'earn' their next bite to eat.
Christ you come off like a clingy ex trying to pull up text logs to discredit someone that has no relation to the post.

By now I'm more worried if he's okay.
Usually he pops in here now and then but ...
I hope he's fine and just busy or something.

The potential within this game is massive - if only the designer could add more updates to it. Pity he is only a one-man team.
