Octo Swirl - I won't lie, while I love this kind of game IRL, I love it because I'd always spam coins on the ones where you fed the quarters/tokens manually into it back in the day. I am HORRIBLE at this version so far. Going to need a lot of time and training to get the rhythm right, but given there's really no dud spots on the wheel it feels good even getting close. Lots of fun, but I wish we at least got pity tickets for failure.
Ticket Toboggan - This was among the first ticket game types I ever played, not counting whack-a-mole or that weird roll-the-coins bowling game that was in every Chuck-E-Cheese's in the 90s. Utterly fun but punishing if your timing is even a hair off for the big boys. Good times.
Pick Yer Treasure! - I love and hate this game. It's simple as all heck, but given how long a spin takes to resolve, it hurts like the dickens to come to the end of a session and come up empty-handed. Worth at least one try per visit like an arcade gatcha machine, just to see if you luck into that white spot.
Lava Mayhem - I adore modern marble-based pusher games, so this one was an easy top tier for me. Fun to play as all heck. Only gripe, feels like the marble-fall along the steps is a lot more limited than the angling of the ramp would suggest. Otherwise, massive thumbs up. Here's hoping we see marble-pushers revisited more in the future.
Wheel'R Up! - Only game I hit a legit bug on, since it wasn't offering any tickets for runs that didn't make it to the bonus wheel. Still, it saw a LOT of plays from both of us, since there's something very satisfying about making a perfectly timed release and getting it all the way to the top.
Super Hoops - Solid, straight-forward, and fills a hole that arcade simulation needs filled. Hoping to see this one played with in future (moving hoops, football-throwing version, etc.) but as it stands, this game is getting at least one play every trip to Billie's.
Power Puck - Fun, even if I couldn't get a win to save my life. My wife easily trampled the AI, though. So, same weakness/strength as we have on air hockey IRL. Guess that means this one was perfect.
Mini Golf - Hooooley moley, this was a blast. Great mixture of concepts for holes, with some really enjoyable ones alongside some classic staples. As a huge fanboy of mini-golf both IRL and in games, this scratched an itch to be sure. That said, it's also probably the most flawed of the additions. Par 2 is just wrong for a ton of these holes and needs an adjustment ASAP. Also, the windmill needs some extra work; it was way too easy to out of bounds the ball, and at one point we managed to get it into the windmill tunnel but not out the other side, resulting in our character/camera phasing INTO the windmill for our follow-up shot.
Food - Fun additions to be sure, but much like with the hamburger and hot dog models in the background taunting me at the carnival, PLEASE consider expanding what we can buy in future to better match that taunting menu.
Prizes - GREAT new selection of goodies. The avocado is adorable, mascot-tier even! And that ship in a bottle is a real worthy top-tier prize. My wife all but demanded we get the octopus plushie ASAP, so guessing that one was her vote for the best.
Visuals - Could not be happier with how the space feels, both externally and internally. Like I said above, it brings back powerful memories for us, and just feels like the kind of place you'd want to kill a Saturday with your friends growing up. I can only imagine it'll be even better once the crates start giving way to the games they 'hide'.
Misc. - Only thing I'd hope for that has not been suggested before, now that we can really see the location and especially the outside, is making some use of that pseudo-boardwalk space on said outside. Not sure how, but it really has a feel like we should see some little shop kiosks, like a salt water taffy shop or commemorative photo hut.
Overall, this was a huge hit for us, and a great gift. Hope you're taking a BIG restful well-earned break after giving us something this amazing to enjoy.
But! - I want a Shark in the Tank ;-)
Great Work, Thank you!
Sorry for my bad english.
Pick Yer Treasure - I feel like the wheel should have more smaller individual slots rather than the 5 big ones it has right now. Also I feel like the values are too high for yellow and white.
Lava Mayhem - I really like the new take on a pusher game, but it feels like there needs to be a bit more variance in where the balls go. I also had a ball stop on the platform where the holes are.
Mini Golf - This one is fantastic. My only complaint is the shipwreck/lightning hole on the back nine. It's really difficult to see where to go on my monitor and I felt like I was putting randomly. The ticket rewards for this is also way too high. I had a lot of pars, but some really bad holes and ended up around 20 over for 18 but I still got 1000 tickets.
* 19th hole ** You've got a wall behind the 18th hole that would work well l for a pirate themed 19th hole as a "ball eater". Something like a skee-ball style game where you're firing cannons at a ship. (The view is from the ship's deck looking out onto the horizon.) If you hit it (and sink it) you get a voucher for a free pizza/drink/round of golf/etc.
