Long story short, I really liked the night time atmosphere and the 3D Volumetric lighting. In my opinion It adds more to the feel of a scene without really adding much. It's kind of an M. Night Shyamalan thing, where you the player imagines what is out there and its different for each player. Hence the reason I made a flash light early on for the player to decide. I hope it takes some of the darkness away and adds some nostalgic summer night vibes.
I will add, that I don't see myself adding anything "horror" scary to this game. Definitely crazy, silly and weird.... but not too scary.
I have also entertained the full day cycle lighting system, but I have to do some work to fit it into the back story of islandville and uncle phil.
I cant give away too much more right now... I don't want to let all the excited supporters down. Lots of tastes to satisfy and I'm going to give it my best. :)
Kevin
P.S: Or the "shady" pawn-broker. Is he a gangster? I love the ambiguity and the unintended effect it has on me as a player (creepiness, eerie feeling of impending horror).
