Game only runs in background, help?

Hey, so, ever since the update, the game doesn't seem to only open in the background when I check the processes. I know I'm not the only one experiencing this issue, but I was wondering if anyone has a fix yet?

Have you added another monitor to your setup?

Tried all of that, still didn't solve the issue of it only running in the background and I only use the one monitor. As I said, I don't seem to be the only one with this problem. It only started happening after the update.

Try holding ALT at game launch. A small popup will open. Check the resolution of the dropdown and make sure it is the correct resolution and monitor.

Then click play and see if it starts. Mine takes about 20 seconds to show anything on the screen after clicking it. DONT click on the screen at all when loading as windows will think that it is not working when in fact it is loading all of the game objects.

It doesn't even get that far. It will just not launch at all, pressing ALT only get's me into the properties and shows nothing about monitors or resolutions. Seriously, nothing shows, not even a black box. Nothing. If I open up the task manager to see what's going on it's under processes as running, but it's running in the background.
It's only happened after the latest update. It's an annoying problem because I really love this game.

I'm not running anything custom built, I use a pretty decent gaming laptop as I frequently move around, visiting people and take it with me, but -
CPU - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4810MQ CPU @ 2.80GHz
GPU - Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 & NVIDIA Quadro K4100M
RAM - 32gb
OS - Windows 7 Professional

- Have you clicked it and walked away and let it take a while?

So a pop up opens and is blank?

I does not show up in the task bar, and I have left it and let it go, but nothing. It only runs as a background process.

Hi Kevin, I've every possible thing and it still only launches the game in the background.
