Shop prices are outlandish

Just why are the shop prices so outlandish? I just started the game and the very first shops would require lots of grinding which I'm not sure how to do in this game.

almost nothing is worth buying untill the end of the game. i've only bought health potions and been doing just fine.

Some places offer you the items cheaper but you need materials. Kinda like in Final Fantasy 8.

I never made it far in FF8 so i have no idea what you're referring too. The juncion system and drawing magic from mobs didn't click with me.

I just hated the draw system. Everything else was fine. But some people you encounter will offer you the gear at a cheaper price but you need the materals for them. So happy hunting. It's not too much of a chore.

So you don't have those at the beggining of the game. They are things you find way later as drops, having them at the beggining would be a huge advantage.
