Is the first boss (Soul Reaper) beatable?

I died on the first boss after getting it down about 50% on hard mode, wasn't able to use another potion in time. The game continued on after losing. Can you beat the boss, and is there any benefit if you do? Trying to to decide if I need to roll back to a save point and do it again.

I couldn't defeat her the first time, but I guess when the game is finished, there would be a change or something with the NG+...

I cheesed her & the zombies into a corner to beat her but the game stopped working in the cutscene the lag was to much.

Yeah got it the lag in the cut scene was unreal but i will say i liked it.

just try to beat Soulreaper on New Game +, with a good weapon like the sword of Verum fully upgraded, it's piece of cake.

I used the app Cheat Engine to hex edit hack the game to see if it's possible.
Gave myself infinite mana, health, and rage, then unlocked everything at the beginning.
For fun, I set it to hardest difficulty then fought her and won.

You get an achievement unlock, but otherwise I don't see much else. I'll let you know if I see a difference.

you get an instant game over after you beat her.

its not that hard to beat her on new game+.
