Differences between this and BroForce?
Hey, this isn't intended to start a flame war or stir the pot as I legitimately loved BroForce and this game looks extremely interesting and along the same vein as that. However I was wondering what potential differences there are to set this apart versus that game if any? Don't get me wrong I'll still most likely pick it up but just wondering if I can expect an updated take on that formula or if it's, its own beast.

Oh gosh where to start.

Huntdown and Broforce are VERY different games. I would say the only common things they have are pixel art, references to pop culture, and guns. That is where the similarities end. (oh, and they both have a Snake Plisssken from EFNY Cameo)

Broforce has a large degree of destroyable terrain, making it actually more akin to Worms than any other game that comes to mind. Essentially if you gave worms direct control instead of turn based action, you'd have Broforce.

Huntdown is a more bespoke experience from top to bottom. Everything is delicately balanced to give you a very Arcade-y experience through handcrafted levels made to suit the 3 playable characters. There are also tactical cover-based mechanics, which can slow gameplay down to a more thoughtful "stop-n-pop" experience (as opposed to the kinetic, insane, explosion filled nuttiness of Broforce). If we would compare it to existing games, I'd say Elevator Action Returns, Robocop VS Terminator, and Contra Hard Corps would be decent analogs for Huntdown's aesthetic and gameplay.

Honestly, just looking at the two games side by side should be enough to see how they differ.

Though I will say, I LOVE Broforce, and they get bonus points in my books for having Tank Girl as a playable Character!

I hope this was helpful. And yes, as Munin said, jump on our Discord and start a conversation on the topic, we have a lot of active Huntdown fans, and speedrunners (who understand the mechanics of the game very well ) on there that would be happy to have this discussion!

Pretty similar, to me personally Huntdown is a bit more linear, whereas BroForce was more chaos-like gameplay (if you know what I mean). I think it heavily depends on personal preference.

I recommend to watch some Youtube videos if you're unsure whether to buy.

Also, feel free to checkout our Discord - I'm sure you can catch more opinions over there!
