Any tips on the Team Challenge Boss?
Having trouble on the troll boss in the team challenege. I know the game difficulty has nothing to do with it but I've been playing Hard this whole time. Many things were difficult, but eventually managable with the right skills and equipment combinations.

But I'm getting my butt handed to me on the Troll boss, even with 4 supers up. Anyone have any tips? I've had a little luck with timing a Invulnerable for his OHKO move but end up running out of mana long before I get him close to dying. Thank you for any help! My guys are all level 25 and my healer is 30.

it is a "troll" boss. So is there something I should be doing that's thinking outside of the box?

Hiya! Well, my normal layout that has pretty much help me get all the way up until here has been:

Super Heal/Boon/Taunt/Stoneskin. But I don't recommend this layout for any serious attempts against the Troll Boss.

The best Attempt I had was Super Heal/Boon/Invulnerable (For the OHKO), and Meditate. But unfortunately, my Meditate and Invulnerable aren't leveled. But if someone successfully did him with skills I haven't leveled then I dont mind respecing.
I have been having similiar issues beating the team challenge troll. Seems as soon as I take out 20% of his HP, he gets an unannounced damage boost, completely midigating any reasons to have defense.

I've gone to respec a couple times now for this guy, but nothing I'd used so far as worked.

Most recent loadout for healer was SHA (maxed out), Invul, Life, and Boon.
Okay, after many attempts, I have come up with a decent strategy for the Team Challenge Troll Fight.

Healer spells:
Super Heal (Max out mana cost reduction and improved healing effect)
Counterspell
Boon (Cooldowns maxed, 120 mana regained, mana regen passives, Boon Cooldown super passive)
Meditate (all mana regen passives, mana regen effect 2.5x)

Healer Bracelet:
Defense Bracelet

Tanky:
Generous Sword
Uglyness Ring +1

Grumpy:
Rager's Axe
Great Defense Ring +1

Beauty:
Special Bow (helpful for the last stretch of the fight)
Critical Ring +1

Murky:
Mana Amulet
Great Damage Ring +1

The troll will not directly attack anyone in the backline until either Grumpy or Tanky is removed. The only way the troll can attack the backline is with his only spell (the giant gunk ball of doom... don't know it's real name), but it can be shut down via Counterspell. In my personal opinion, he does start hitting you harder after you knock off 20% of the troll's health, although if you do things right, he shouldn't be able to knock anyone out until he has about 20% HP left!

Strategy:
*Focus on keeping Grumpy and Tanky healed up at all times, but stay on meditation until you need to heal, immediately switching back upon restoring HP. If the troll kills them, he WILL one-shot Beauty and Murky next!
*When you spot the troll casting, unleash counterspell to make him waste his turn.

Simply repeat the two strategy points until beaten.

I've done it with :
Heal First Line
Counterspell
Stone Skin
Meditate

Thanks Aeris, your build worked a treat!

Where do you get counterspell? The only secret spell I have found is double heal.

Counter spell is in the archmage castle. When they ask if you want to search around, you have to accept and search. I think it is missable since I could not reenter the castle but I already had the spell.

aeris tip has helped a lot, thanks!
but i would add: secret spell mana regen and the 10% mana-save-bracelett has given me the advantage in this battle.

I don't remember having the option to look around in the archmage castle.

Happens after the rest of the team joins you and Murky, Beauty suggests looking around to 'borrow' useful items before you visit Mario. Should be up to the healer then to decide.

I am the type of person that likes to take my time and look around, if that option had been available I would have done it. I do remember the game skipping some dialogue before I had a chance to read it while in the archmage castle though, something must have bugged and the game auto selected no.

You can only look around the academy if you won the level where Tanky, Grumpy and Beauty are fighting without you and Murky. If you succeed in that and didn't get the dialogue allowing you to vivit the academy, please tell me, it might be a bug.

After few trys with my standart build i went to respec and easely 1st try it without counterspell(for those like me who skipped it). here's the build :

Healer (lvl 29) : Sup heal/ Invulnerable / Boon / Mana flow // -10% spellcost bracer

Upgrades :

Sup heal : Healing buffs and mana cost upgrades (9 stars)
Invulnérable : Mana cost upgrades (6stars)
Boon : Casting boon grants invulnérable 2sec to the team (mandatory) ; 2 Passives upgrade, +10mana recover, 4CD reduc upgrades. (20stars)
Manaflow : mana cost /1.1 on all spells(passif) + Super heal passivel, then 2 reduction CD upgrades (9stars).

Itémization :

Tanky (lvl 23) : Generous sword + mana absorber ring +1
Grumpy (lvl 23) : Critical axe (better axes might exist but i didnt have it, Berserker axe is a bad idea) + Uglyness ring +1
Beauty (lvl 23): Bow of Cowardice + Great dmg ring +1
Murky (lvl 24): Booned amulet ou explosive amulet + succesful ring +1
(the best is Squishy amulet but i didnt have it for the fight)

Observations :

I think the challenge is doable with an inférior lvl team and less effiscient items.
Other builds may be viable or even better than mine.
Invulerable is upgraded mostly for the passif it grants to Boon (2sec invuln on team), i had to cast Invulnerable only twice on the entire fight.
All CD reductions on Boos are must-have, also 3 or 4 upgrades on Mana Flow (must-have are both passives and the point that grant access to them in the tree).
Super Heal has to be maxed with 9 stars like i said earlier.
Grumpy has to wear a defensive ring and Tanku must have Mana absorber ring.
You have to wear -10% spellcost bracer.

Advices :

Use Boon before Invulnerable to save an ally from the one shot mecanic, dont use it only to recover mana.
Use Mana flow on cooldows to buff Murky and for mana efficiency.
Start the fight with 4 ultimates avaible.
Use your frontlaner's ultimates at the start of the fight and immédiately when you get them in order to shorten the fight; because your frontlaners will take heavy damages the whole fight, they will have their ultimates very often so dont delay them.

I chose to run away from that fight because they were all at 50% hp.
