Custom profile not working in Logitech G Hub?
I dislike trying to press "Alt" to use a power or dodge and want to instead use the left side "Back" button on my Logitech G903 for this. G Hub doesn't detect the game when I hit the "Scan Now" button so I've manually added a profile for the game directed at the "...\steamapps\common\BIOMUTANT\Biomutant.exe" file but the profile doesn't activate when I'm playing the game. This tends to work for other games/apps I've manually added so I'm a bit confused as to the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure what to tell you on this, but if you can find which key that is, you could technically rebind it through the input.ini file in the appdata folder for Biomutant. Also, the file to executable you should bind is the one that's in BIOMUTANT\Biomutant\Binaries\Win64\Biomutant-Win64-Shipping.exe iirc.
ThumbMouseButton
ThumbMouseButton2
(You'll need to play around with these to learn which one's which for your game)
To change the binds for LeftAlt change the following file
------
1. Go to %localappdata%\Biomutant\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
2. Edit the file Input.ini
3. Edit the lines shown below associated with LeftAlt
ActionMappings=(ActionName="Dodge",Key=LeftAlt,bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False)
ActionMappings=(ActionName="AirshipDescend",Key=LeftAlt,bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False)
ActionMappings=(ActionName="UseAbilityTwo",Key=LeftAlt,bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False)
4. Save file and start game

"Use ability 2" is for instant casting, I could bind that using the in game settings. However, that is not for using the middle mouse button to bring up the wheel. If I bind "use ability 2" and "dodge" to the button I want to replace "Alt" I'd be casting every time I dodge.

I found out why the profile isn't activating: "...\steamapps\common\biomutant\biomutant.exe" doesn't actually get loaded. The file that gets loaded is "...steamapps\common\BIOMUTANT\Biomutant\Binaries\Win64\Biomutant-Win64-Shipping.exe". You'd expect that the problem would be solved, right? Well, no. I click "Add game or application, navigate to the file, and click open, but, for some reason, I can't create a profile in G Hub using that file. I don't know if the filename is too long, or what.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the ability casting (using LeftAlt) wouldn't work unless you used middle button to activate the wheel and the lines below are the quick-casting ones?
ActionMappings=(ActionName="QuickUseAbilityFour",Key=F4,bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False)
ActionMappings=(ActionName="QuickUseAbilityOne",Key=F1,bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False)
ActionMappings=(ActionName="QuickUseAbilityThree",Key=F3,bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False)
ActionMappings=(ActionName="QuickUseAbilityTwo",Key=F2,bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False)

I am unsure why the profile activation wouldn't work. I am also unsure if GHub is different from Logitech Gaming Software, as I was properly able to set a profile to activate while the game is running in the latter.

If that's the case, then I'll give changing the INI syntax a shot. It's unusual to see input options in the INI that aren't available in the mapping section of the game's settings menu.

Yeah, G Hub is a completely different software from LGS, which is depricated and no longer updated. I have no idea why I can't create a profile pointing at the exe that loads, but creating one for the "biomutant.exe" and then adding the "Win64-Shipping" one as a secondary activator still doesn't work.

Edit:
Changing the INI did the trick. Thanks for the help! I don't know why they don't let you change this in the game's mapping section of the settings menu...

Okay, so this mostly works. However, for some reason the various QTEs are still using "Alt" instead of "ThumbMouseButton" even though it's showing the icon for "ThumbMouseButton".

I have no idea about that. That's weird that it shows the button for ThumbMouseButton when the things to change that I posted have nothing to do with QTE.
MasterZoen Jun 15, 2021 @ 5:13pm
Anything that makes use of the Alt button now shows the "ThumbMouseButton" instead of showing Alt, and most things now use it in place of Alt. The QTEs are the only thing that still needs me to press Alt. You can see why I prefer the Logitech profiles, right? LOL
I'd love to know if a dev can tell me why I can't make a profile that points to the application. *Sigh*

Edit:
Logitech Hub has just updated with support for Biomutant. Now, I need to switch the INI file back. LOL

Eh, the profile still doesn't detect the game running, I'm sure the game devs have done something silly as there are 2 apps in the game folder running according to Task Manager, but I can just enable Persistant Profile on Biomutant when i want to play while I wait for Logitech to respond on r/LogitechG.

Man, so weird. I use the LGS one and it works, sucks I don't use GHub since I think my mouse is too old for it or something (G502 Prot Core or something like that model), else I would help you troubleshoot it.

Huh? Are you sure? LGS is deprecated and G Hub is the software listed for download.

Turns out I was wrong, mine's a Logitech - G502 Proteus Spectrum Optical Gaming Mouse - Black. Seems like it's so old it doesn't exist in Logitech's site anymore lol. https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024634754 redirects to undefined.

In any case, I didn't need to change the software because it was working as intended with LGS and I wasn't aware that GHub was the "new" app. Imma check it out and see.

Seems I had to wade through some google pages to find the actual page: https://support.logi.com/hc/en-my/articles/360024692254--Downloads-G502-Proteus-Spectrum-RGB-Tunable-Gaming-Mouse time to check it out~

LOL You didn't have to do that, like I said LGS is deprecated. It's had no updates since 2018. You could have just gone to www.logitechg.com and clicked "Support" and then "Download" at the top to download the newest version.

Man that was some weird stuff I had to go through. I had to click the padlock or else it was killing all the default config I did with the profile-specific one for like CoD (like throwing my DPI from 850 to 2400?!?) smh.
MasterZoen Jun 17, 2021 @ 6:14pm
Click it where? Each profile has it's own DPI settings that have to be set. Make sure you are only running one of the programs or else they act wonky. The padlock has different effects on different screens. If you do it on the Light Sync screen it applies those light settings at all times. If you do it on the Sensitivity screen it makes those DPI settings apply to all profiles. If you do it on the Assignments screen it overwrites every profile while still allowing profile switching... (WHY????!!! Well, I assume because of someone with a Logitech Keyboard would have macros, but still... WHY???!!!)

Also, did it switch to the Biomutant profile?
